I was on another site that I visit and someone had posted an article which claims that cleansing the skin with a mixture of olive and castor oils can reduce blackheads by up to 90%. The claim is based on the premise that like dissolves like, oil dissolves sebum. Supposedly even oily skin can benefit from this method.
I used to have a majour problem with blackheads, but I've found alternative methods to get rid of them, so I'm probably not the best guinea pig to test this. Just thought I'd put it out there for any brave soul who would like to try, it seems to make sense to me.
BTW, I can't post the link because it's a private, protected forum, and there is no source provided, but I will ask the OP for permission to post the article. I'll be back if/when I get a response.

I tried that and it ruined my skin for 2 weeks. What I recommend is using a lemon juice solution (50% lemon juice and 50% water, you can add more or less water after 2 weeks use) putting that on a cotton pad and then buffing it around your face for about a minute. Especially where you have the black heads. My problem areas are chin and between my eyes so I can go at these places for a long time.
The pressure you apply shouldn't be too hard, just hard enough for you to feel like your getting a light facial massage.
Last, use this after you wash your face and let it dry for 5-10mins. You may feel funny doing this on a dry face but it works better that way. I tried it right after washing and it just didn't work. Also, since your face is dry you will see skin flakes easier and this lemon juice buffing method is AWESOME for getting rid of those. First time I did this I had to use 3 pads to get all the dead skin off.
Good luck and feel free to PM if you need help.
