I have not been taking Solodyn, 45mg (i weigh 100lbs) for two weeks yet, and something awful has happened. I read more than necessary literature on minocycline/tetracyclines prior to taking solodyn, and I never considered the possibility that I too may react with pseudotumor cerebri...
A couple days ago, after taking my daily solodyn for moderate/severe acne - I've tried everything but accutane and minocycline - a sudden headache came upon me and I didn't think too much of it, even though it really is very odd for me to have any kind of a headache. But, the headache got worse and was some of the worst pain I've ever had. I took ibuprofen, went to bed, woke up the following day accompanied by the same excruciating headache. I lay around thinking I was getting the flu, etc., but it feels like nothing I've had before. My eyes hurt and are so dry I can barely keep them open and my vision is blurry.
Yesterday, I vaguely remembered reading something about "pseudotumor cerebri"...didn't know what it was, but it was obviously neurological and I thought it may be of some relevance....well after reading all I can about it and having myself and family worried sick, I called my dr. who said if it doesn't diminish within a few hours to go to the ER. I'm really scared and I hate solodyn and regret not just trying to persuade my derm to give me accutane..

If the minocycline gives you this reaction, the Accutane has a higher likelihood of giving you a worse one. Pseudotumor cerebri is even more rare in cyclines than it is in Accutane.
In any case, I do hope your situation is resolved by this time. Did you have to go to the ER? Have you ever been diagnosed with migraine headaches? Tension headaches? Stress can give one a huge headache.
Let us know how you're doing.
