i have A LOT of whiteheads and have been on tretinoin .05 for 7 weeks. my whiteheads were really only noticable from certain angles or when i stretched my skin. but in the past week or so many have double, some tripled in size. a couple of them have a little black opening. is this them coming to the surface or are my pores just getting clogged more?
retin-a

They are definitively coming out to the surface. Can you squeeze them out?
Once those are gone you probably wont get any new ones. Retin a is great to prevent whiteheads and blackheads.
Before i was on retin a , i could extract about 50 comedons every time i would make a facial (once a week). Now i go to the beautician about once a month and she cant find any to extract!

Many will come out of their own. If you know a good esthetician in your area who is experienced with acne prone skin, that is where you should go to have them extracted properly.

yes I'd really like so have them extracted, especially the large ones. if you could post the contact info. for that esthetician or message me it that would be great =)

A good estetician can sqeeze them out without leaving red marks. They use products so make the comedones softer and much easyer to extract.
Call a few salons and ask them about what kind if acne facial they have. You MUST tell them you are using retin a and you want an extration on you very sensitive skin. If they dont know what is retin a , PLEASE hang up and call somwhere else.
The important thing is to tell them that even if you have acne, the products you are using at home makes your skin super duper sensitive and it will leave red marks if they are not careful.
And also very important if it is your first visit: Tell them the retin A has been prescribed by your dermatologist and you have regular visits with him (even if it isn't true). Otherwise, they will badmouth retin A just to make you doubtful and then they try to sell you about 300$ worth of their own crappy products.
