My derm switched me from tazorac .1 to differin .3. I was already about 4 weeks into the tazorac when he switched me. The first couple of weeks it cleared me up alright but now I'm about 4 weeks in and I'm breaking out horribly, worse than when my IB occured with tazorac a year ago. Can anyone share with me their experience with differin .3?

I just switched to the stronger Differin along with 50 mg of Spironolactone about a month ago. I'm not sure what the cause can be attributed to, but I definitely broke out very badly. I didn't have cysts but had tons of clogged pores that turned into very nasty, huge whiteheads. It seems that my breakouts may have started to slow down a bit, but I'm not counting on it. It totally sucks, though!

Yeah.. what I'm gettin right now is a ton of whiteheads that are red underneath. I'm hoping things will turn out better in a week or so.. I am also taking 100 mg of doxycycline but I think my derm is going to up the dosage when I see him next week.. I hate the IB.. so depressing..

you should ask your derm about finacea. i'm using tretinoin @ night to get rid of my whiteheads and blackheads and i noticed in the first month it was actually give me more tiny whiteheads. my derm said its normal and prescribed me finacea to use in the morning and said it would prevent this. i used it for only a week and those tiny whiteheads cleared up.

to be honest, im trying to eliminate the number of things i put on my face due to dryness.. i hope someday i'll be able to wake up in the morning and not worry about moisturizing the hell out of my face.

it's only the 4th week into the differin .3 sooo i'm hoping it begins showing signs of improvement - i dont have cystic acne (one every so often that usually goes away quickly) so hopefully differin was designed for my type of acne (whiteheads, clogged pores, occasional painful cyst under the skin)

if there are any more suggestions please don't hesitate, thanks.

how bout.. if you've used differin how long was it until you saw results after your IB? and how long did you IB last?
