Do I:

Cleanse
Put on Topicals
Moisturize
Toner on oily parts

Do I put topicals before all that or after?

I think you would put the toner on first, then the medication, wait about twenty minutes, and then moisturize

Ok, thanks. Another question. The part where I put the toner is the oily areas which is my forehead, nose, around the nose area, and above the chin. Should I put moisturizer here also?

If you want, it's all personal preference, myself, I have oily skin so I don't need to moisturize.

Everyone keeps saying to apply the topical first and the lotion after, but the directions my tazorac tube came with said to apply lotion before.

Here is another website that will say the same...

tazorac

I don't think that is mandatory though, although they do say that, they just want to warn you what the Tazorac causes, dryness and irritation, but if you don't get dryness and irritation much from topicals, like me, you don't want to do it. When I tried Tazorac about 2 years ago, I didn't need to put any lotion on before applying it.

If you are using Tazorac, I suggest you follow the instructions and moisturize first then apply the Taz. When you wash, you are removing some of the protectant in the first layer of skin. By moisturizing, you are helping to restore that protectant that was removed. Wait about 15 minutes after moisturizing and your skin will be ready for the Tazorac. This is what I have done for a month of being on Taz and I have not had any irritation. Also, be sure to use ONLY a pea size amount for the whole face. I have read so many horror stories of people getting chemical burns, especially those using the stronger (.1) prescription. I use the .05 dosage.
