Hi.
I was prescribed Differin about a month ago, and I'm currently using it every other night until Christmas time, then I'll be using it nightly. It was prescribed to me for treatment of clogged pores in lower T-Zone..not for inflammatory acne (have used BP for around 2 years now)
My derm said that I could use BP during the day - and inbetween the night applications so I didn't have a huge IB. Which I didn't (thank god).
Anyway - during the day I apply NHSFL which has a high amount of AHA in it - I've been using this product as my day moisturizer for about a year now, works fine. But.. lately with the dry winter air. I've noticed that I have been a little more flaky, but who knows what that's from... but would the application of AHA when I use Differin nightly be extremely irritating?
Basically, I'm asking if I should continue to use AHA while on a Differin treatment.

What do ya mean in between night applications? Like you apply BP then the differin at night? I'm jus asking cause I'm going back on differin and I'd really like to prevent the initial breakout I had before whilst using differin

My doctor said that I should start out w/ differin use every other night. so say monday i use differin, and then on tuesday i'd use BP, and differin on Wednesday, etc. I'm also using BP in the AM too.
CeraVe Moisturizer is extremely nice too, very moisturizing, but not extremely thick and nasty feeling like cetaphil.

Hmmm. What I meant was, you use differin and BP simultaneously at night lol? Is it harsh on your skin, any major side effects you get?

No i dont use them simutaneously.
One or the other, switch every night.

what he means by "in between night treatments" is say for example, if he applied differin last night, and will apply it again tonight, the "in-between" part would be today (morning to the evening until he applied differin again)
anyway, i don't think that NHSFL is strong enough (even though its 8% GA, its still partially neutralised) so it wont cause you any problems
the dryness is coming from the winter air, i know this because i used differin and get no dry skin in the autumn/spring/summer months, but i have to use a Eucerin on the small dry parts on my face in the winter.
also id stop using BP, that's what's probably causing your dry skin, more so than the dry air.
hope all goes well for you mate
