I've been using Benzaclin for almost two months. Its working fantastic. No breakouts whatsoever.

But the first two weeks my face dried out, tightened up and smoothed out. I loved the way it felt.

Now my skin is no longer as dry or tight, but it continues to be smooth and absolutely no breakouts.

Can someone explain this? Has my skin gotten used to Benzaclin? I mean I'm not complaining, as long as I continue to be breakout free that's fine. I just missed the dried out sensation.

Also, is it wise to stir the Benzaclin a little before I use it, to keep it potent?

Thanks.

I've been using it for 2 years, yes that "tight" effect goes away as your skin gets used to it. Also, it is recommended to stir occasionally.

Benzaclin is VERY fast acting, you can see results in 1-3 days

The downside I, and many of the users of Benzaclin experience is that, it does a really good job but it only works to an extent. Only a few have experienced 100% clear skin this.

Midnite is correct. My skin cleared up VERY fast, but see I'm 30 years old. I've had severe acne on and off since I was 17. Been on everything under and over the counter including Accutane, Benzamycin, Tazorac, Duac, Benzoyl Peroxide, Doxycycline etc....

So perhaps it works so well because I'm in the latter stages.

I have another question.

I noticed if I'm exposed to cold weather for long periods of time (after having applied Benzaclin) my skin will get very shiny and oily looking.

However that's not the case if it's warm out. Any idea why this happens?

Is the cold weather forcing my pores closed and not allowing the Benaclin to penetrate thoroughly enough?

Do you guys also experience tight skin as you're on Benzaclin? It's been bugging me for a few days now, and I can't figure out if its Benzaclin, Differin or the Tetracyclin I'm on that's causing the flaking, dry skin and tightness =/

Hm.. I have never experienced that before. It would be the opposite for me.

Yes, the tight skin is from Benzaclin, it's normal. It takes quite a while for your skin to get used to the tightness, but after your used to it, tightness is minimal. It's called the "hardening effect," just make weird faces and it'll go away.

Yeah the tightness will go away eventually. However my face still gets really tight right after I get out of the shower, but then it fades away after 15 minutes or so. So you're on three medications? Wow. I would think Benzaclin alone would do the job.

..and Midnite I should have clarified that I occasionally work outside in the cold weather, so I'm thinking maybe it's the sweat mixed with the cold air that's causing my face to look oily.
