im going on 6 weeks of retin-a (noo improvment). im using it for my whiteheads, so if retin-a does work what will it do to my inflammed acne? will it just open my comedones and need to be extracted or will this happen on its own?

i use retin a micro.
I usually go for regular facials and after a few months of using retin a, the esthetician had trouble extracting the blackheads and the whiteheads (comedons). She said they were either new ones too small to squeeze out or the retin a was drying them up.
Thank god, it was the retin a starting to work.
If you CAN squeeze them out, you should notice they wont come back nearly as fast when you are using the retin a.
I really dont have any blackheads or whiteheads using this cream.
I find if i do get a pimple, using retin a on it makes it disappear much faster. If you do have a lot of inflammed pimples, you might want to try : stievamycin gel. It's a retin a gel with antibiotics mixed in it. I love that one during hot humid summer months. It's a bit more drying than retin a micro.
