Hope this isn't totally foreign to people on here. I posted this on the scar board, but thought I'd post here as well since cysts are basically a type of skin infection:
Two nights ago, I did a saline injection on a scar.
I used 28 gauge, 1/2 inch long.
At one point the needle accidentally slipped all the way into the skin, I quickly pulled it out.
But refilled more saline into the skin, not as deep.
2 days later, the area is painless, raised with skin level, a little pink, but if I feel the skin, I can feel a small bump.
I thought any kind of injection bump should go away sooner than this.
Did I cause a possible infection? What happens if a needle went too deep into the skin?
Do any of you have suggestions? Should I be taking something, treating it? I know saline is supposed to safely dissolve within time, but I'm wondering if I caused too much irritation this time. I hope I am not going to cause an even worse scar now.
So basically, if what I'm dealing with is the beginning of a deep infection, what should I do? I'm not saying it is, it may just be swelling, but what should I be taking/doing to prevent some sort of evil cyst?
lump infection?
