First, let me start by saying that I suffer from mild-moderate acne. Well, about a week ago I started to develop a cystic pimple on the side of my nose (every once in a while I get them there). It grew quite large and about a week later a whitehead (or pustule?) started to form on it. Over the next few days it drained out by itself and then became very dry. A day or two ago the dry skin that covered it fell off to reveal redness where the pimple had been. The area where the skin broke to drain is extremely red and at first I thought it was a scab, only to find out upon closer inspection that it was just very red skin (it doesn't feel tender though.) Well, bottom line is I've never had a cystic pimple quite as bad before and I am concerned that it may scar. Also, is there anything I can do to prevent scarring? I've posted pictures below. Any output would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

That isnt a scar, its PIH. It will fade in 6months to a year. maybe less but it seems very red.

post inflamatory hyperpigmentation.

is it bad that its very red?

Nah, I had similar. 3 months post and theyve faded quite significantly.
