Hey there.
I have a dermatologist appointment on the 28th, and am considering some form of laser/red+blue light therapy, as i'd much rather not have to perscribe to a new medication (currently on Retin-A Micro) and risk an initial break-out.
My problem isn't full-blown acne, my skin complexion is VERY uneven, my natural skin is pale and my cheeks are extremely red. So something just to even my complexion out would be enough. Is there a specific type of laser therapy you'd recommend, and how much do standard blue/red light or laser therapy treatments in general cost?
Laser treatment?

Hey X! Sorry not to reply sooner; I feel your pain! Lots of "lurkers" here, not much in the way of replies..... oh well..
I've had ALA/PDT treatments 4 times; it's been an interesting journey - it cost me $400 a pop and consisted of Levulan applied to the face, then red/blue lights pulsated on my face I've had some good results, in between all of the cystic acne that's been brought up from below the surface......
If you don't have acne, but you have redness, has your MD mentioned rosacea to you?? That's a skin condition consisting of redness, swelling, uneven pigmentation, some pimples, hot to the touch.... does that sound like you? If so, I know antibiotics will help with that..... just wondering...
Let us know what you decide = = even if we just read your posts, we're still interested!! Good luck! Patti

The last appointment I had with an MD was way back in March, but yeah, i'm aware of rosacea. I actually thought I had it initially at first, but I don't know. My skin doesn't swell, and it doesn't feel hot. i'm only 16, so it being rosacea probably isn't likely. I hope not!
I do have some acne, but it doesn't even compare to the redness.

Hi:
Usually laser works on both cheeks area can costs you about $250-$400 per session.
I did a Cool Touch Laser on my both cheek areas, and she charged me $250 per session.
Hope this helps.
