When I was in my early teens and got cysts I would always pop then, infect them, and make it worse. But sometimes popping them didn't make it worse. But I got this idea from a previous staph infection. The doctor prescribed me Bactroban, its a stronger version of Neosporen. Well what i usually do for the smaller cysts is clean the cyst area with an alcohol wipe to dry it out, and kill the bacteria on the outside, and then load the medicine on and put a bandaid on the cyst. Usually when I wake up it has gone down significantly. I think the band-aid is helpful because is soaks in the medicine, and kills bacteria or something like that.
I currently have one of the biggest cysts on my chin right now, and tried my bandaid method, but it won't work on this particular suckerr! It has worked on my other ones, so in no means am i guaranteeing this, just thought I'd suggest what has worked for me in the past.
Also, their is usually no scaring on my face when I use the bactroban.
* substitute bactroban for Neosporen if you don't have it. It works pretty much the same.
