Hi there everyone wavey.gif

What a great site, I'm very glad I found it. smile.gif
This is my first post, I just want to say hi and describe briefly where I'm at..

I've had acne since early puberty. All types, I think, and to varying degrees, depending on age, hormones, diet, reactions to medicines etc.
Two courses of Ro-Accutane(one at 15yrs old, one at 19) worked well and cleared the spots. But I have never been able to get rid of my BLACKHEADS, and I guess I've sorta accepted that I maybe never will, unless some affordable miricle comes along...

I could write a big long post about how it has affected my self-confidence etc. but I guess I've gotten used to it and have tried to accept it, and forget about it as much as I can.
It does get me down sometimes though! sad.gif
I would really love to clear the blackheads/large pores on my nose, mainly(every pore is a blackhead!) but also on my cheeks, and chin.
I wear oil-minimising creme on my T-zone and powder every day and would love to be able to leave the house without it..

I am done with over the counter remedies, I sort of gave up on that stuff a long time ago anyway. Although occasionally I will succumb to a new microdermabrasion kit, or something. And it works temporarily, but reallly ends up being a waste of more money!
My skin is not an average type of skin and needs something stronger to properly shed the top layer. My skin type is thick, and oily. And I'm now at a stage where I'm noticing that there seems to be a lot of new stuff available, compared to say, 10 years ago(I'm 31 now).

So I've been looking into various products, and I'm thinking to try acids.. I use my own home-made aspirin mask a few times a week, and I notice it does make a slight difference in the quality of my complexion. So maybe a stronger concentration of salicylic is what's needed..
I'm on a shopping site, as I type, and I'm about to buy some glycolic acid and salicylic acid.
Ideally I would love to get hold of some 0.1% retin-A - this was my original plan - but it's difficult to find this online(amazon etc won't deliver to Irl) - I will keep looking though, and make that my plan B, if the acid peels don't work..

Also I have some pit/cratar scarring on my cheeks and forehead. I am hoping the acid will help to diminish these also, if the top layer of skin is exfoliated deeply enough.

Any thoughts would be welcome...

I don't have any questions right now, but I'm sure I will, and I'll be on the site quite a lot...
