Hello all
I've got a cyst on my chin that I let come to a head ( actually, there were 2 heads....ick)- finally got some stuff to come out of it this morning by gently squeezing- some pus and blood. Problem is, the darned thing hasn't gone down at all and still look swollen and icky....I am taking minocycline 100mg 2x day..and I took 3 ibuprofen this morning. NOTHING!!! IT LOOKS JUST AS BAD!!!
I am wondering whether to break down and call the derm for an injection although I HATE injections as I often get that dent afterwards.....Once I had a cyst that was so deep I had to get it drained AND injected!!
I'm too old for this ( 43) will this ever end???

suggestions? Should I break down and get it injected?? I'm just not sure. It looks more like a BOIL, I swear, then it does a cyst...

Person's with cysts have a few options they can take as Birdybird41 mentioned: A) You can have an injection. B) You can have it drained (or both). OR C) As my fathers dermatologist wanted for my fathers sebaceous cyst-- have a SURGICAL PROCEDURE to have it removed! D) Try a cream that has had a PROVEN 98% success rate, because it 100% ALL natural, has no side effects, there is no scarring, has PERSONALLY worked for me and my father. Of course there are other products, or methods ..I'm only offering an alternative.. it's up to EACH individual to make their own INFORMED decisions. It's called due diligence. I recommend it.

Birdybird, I don't know how old you are(not that it matters, really)but we took my son to the doctor's today for what we thought was a boil-type pimple/cyst on his calf and it turned out to be MRSA. He most likely contacted the staph infection from sports(he wrestles)at school but it is serious and he is on some pretty strong antibiotics since regular antibiotics don't do anything to fight the infection(MRSA is highly resistent to most antibiotics). There is an epidemic of MRSA going on right now here in Ohio and especially in schools so I'd suggest getting it checked out if there is redness that is starting to spread away from the lesion. We thought it was a simple infected hair or pimple. In 2 days, it grew to twice its size and had a red "halo" develope around the lesion and extended all the way up to the knee and down to his ankle. The doc had to literally cut it down the middle and drain it. We're watching it round the clock.

Anyways, it certainly wouldn't hurt getting it looked at in any event.
