I have been to 5or so dermatologists, and been on countless medications, topical and oral, sulfur, doxycycline, menocycline, solodyne(which I am on right now), and even accutane, I was on accutane for 8 months and so no improvement. I have had acne for about 5 years now and am 20 years old. I can't seem to find any thing or combination of things that will work for me. I will do just about anything to get rid of my acne, i have it on my face and back and have scars pretty severe on my back from years of acne, and all I want is to get rid of it for the most part. I would appreciate any suggestions anyone may have. If you have any questions for me feel free to ask me.

I'm 21 and I've been breaking out with some nodules and an occasional cyst for years now.

A month ago, I finally started the Dan Kern regimen and let me tell you, it works wonders. As long as you follow it closely, and I mean closely, it should help improve your face.

So yeah, I'd suggest starting off on the DKR reg, or perhaps some variant of it using over the counter things. These forums have PLENTY of solutions, it just unfortunately comes down with finding the right one.

Good luck mate!

PS - Before you start anything, look up how acne is caused. It's easier to prescribe a regimen to yourself once you understand the problem.

You should check out the post called "My Cystic Acne"

It has a good point with the fiber and even if you don't do the other parts of his reg, try the fiber thing

Try the regimen advocated on this board. Give it time, if that does not work try some of the other ones, if they do not work, then consider acne surgery with possible follow-up plastic surgery (if required). Personally, while accutane can be a wonder drug (it wasn't in your case) nothing can ensure the elimination of existing pimples and blackheads the way that acne surgery does. The important thing is that is done by a trained medical personnel and under the most sterile of conditions.

It won't stop your acne, but it will eliminate your existing lesions and comedomes.

You might want to look into laser procedures as well.
