Wondering if anybody has experienced any significant relief from their blackheads with makeup.
I have come to the realization that out of sight = out of mind so I think this might be worth a try.
I'm a guy with absolutely no experience with foundations, concealers or what have you, so any product suggestions, or advice in general would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I started wearing concealer on my nose to cover blackheads around 4 years ago, and still do. It was an act of desperation. The brand I use is CoverBlend Concealing Treatment. It's a concealer in cream form. If you can find the right color for your skin, it does look rather natural, though can get a little cakey. I chose it because it's a resilient concealer that's very opaque, so it covers well . So far no one has called me out yet on wearing makeup around my nose area, but then again, maybe everyone is just being polite. The other brand that apparently people use to cover up problem areas on their face and behind is Dermablend.
Good luck,
Good luck,

Good to know, I just read your thread on the same topic from your profile and considering the dependence issues and the possibility of being uncovered, I will give it a little more time until I resort to this, but its good to know that its a potential way out. Do you mind telling me how old you are and have you been on Accutane before?

Thanks,
I figured that it was extremely unlikely that I would grow out of my blackheads. I'm 22 my self so maybe I'll wait till I'm like 24 like you before resorting to Makeup. Reason I asked about Accutane is because I'm currently on a course for fairly mild/moderate acne and it has helped with my blackheads, but I don't know if it will last. I hate to be so nosy, but would you mind disclosing what finally drove you to try makeup and whether or not it alleviated your mental preoccupation, or reinforced it? Are you able to function better with the make-up?

Hi:
It's a long story really. But in a nutshell, I was going through an intensely mentally stressful time in my life, and my skin basically spontaneously broke out like crazy in terms of blackheads. I've never had much of an acne problem, so this was purely toxins/ oils focusing on my facial skin. I felt like I was suddenly disfigured, like being in a car accident or something, and that was what propelled me to try makeup. Before then I would never have considered anything of the sorts.
Again, when I say makeup, it's just a concealer targeted towards the problem area of my face, mainly, the nose area. I've been doing it ever since for a few years now, and it has made a big difference in my confidence. I'm still scared to get up close to someone in fears they may discern the makeup or even the blackheads underneath, but relatively speaking, I can't imagine not using it.

Tip for making blackheads appear less obvious:
Use Clean and Clear Oil Blotting Papers. I find that a shiny nose will make the black dots appear more obvious. You can even go buy some sort of "mattifying essence" containing silicone powders for your nose. Check the Tea Tree Line in "The Body Shop". They have a mattifying moisturizer.
But, yes, keep it matte as possible. Shine makes your blkheads look worse!
