I am contemplating buying redskins tickets in December, a night game against the bears, but by then its obviously going to be frigid,

being outside in the freezing cold for 3-5 hours, hows that do for your skin? Will it just appear worse (due to your face being blush red thus everything standing out) or will it actually do damage?

I dunno, my face feels so much better during cold weather, since I'm always used to oily skin in humid conditions. I suggest moisturizing your skin regularly so it won't dry up come winter time.

most likely the cold will have a numbing effect which will make your acne feel falsely better. When you thaw out your acne will start hurting more. Wear a ski mask this will help with keeping your cheeks warm and covered.

okay, so you dont think in turn it will make the acne worse or anything right?

Cause on this site there are a lot of basic things that people claim have made their acne worse, so i try to avoid those things as much as possible, its good to be paranoid about it in order to get rid of the acne

Look to the left to see where I live - - I COMPLETELY agree!!! rolleyes.gif

When I lived in the Chicago area for a few years, my skin appeared to get much BETTER. I attributed it to the colder, drier air up there, at least half of the year. That was about the ONLY thing I liked about the cold winters!! eusa_snooty.gif

Since we've moved back home, where both my hubby and I were born and raised.... my skin has gone to all hell. I totally think it has something to do with the oily, greasy state that my face gets into with the humidity and heat down here.......

For me personally, the cold helped me - but I know others here claim that their acne gets worse in the cold air..... so I'm not much help. Sorry - - but whatever the case, GO TO THE GAME - and HAVE FUN! Don't let acne cause you to miss out on a good time - - you are not just about acne! eusa_dance.gif

My acne is opposite, probably because I have really dry and sensitive skin. During the Summer my face always has a nice glow to it and I almost never get zits. Then around December and onward until March or April my face gets super dry and flaky and I get tons of little whiteheads and pimples from the irritation. Even piling on lotion doesnt do that much. I live in Southern California too, where it only gets like 45 or 50 at the coldest. I hate to imagine how bad it would be if I lived on the east coast!

i onyl started getting acne last year during the summer, and then it was maybe 1 spot a month...very minor. Months went by and my skin stayed the same, then the past summer hit and my face hit hell and it went from very mild to moderate in the 3 months of summer. It may have to do with the hot humid summer weather, because my face feels great out in the cold; not oily or greasy.

My two worst breakout was during the winter season. Bad, bad cystic acne. I only get one or two spots in the summer.

Having bad acne in the winter is mainly caused from 1. Added irritation and 2. Your skin needs vitamin D to properly repair itself so with the lack of sun it makes it difficult for you skin to keep up. Hope this helps.

I hate the winter, it makes my skin dry and then it breaks out badly. I can't use moisturizers at any point during the year, cold or not, because every single moisturizer i have tried breaks me out sad.gif Warm weather is so much better for my skin even though it makes it look like an oil slick tongue.gif
