Hi all,
Just wondering what kind of protection you guys are using for your eyes when using the at home blue lights. I am currently using the goggles that came with my last beautyskin unit, with baking foil taped to it for extra protection. I'm not quite sure if this is sufficient. While I have the goggles on, I cannot see the blue light. In fact, it is pretty much black when I have the goggles on with the blue lights. However, once I turn on the red light, it gets really bright. Has anyone experienced this with their goggles?

If you can't see the light, then you are OK, because this is the kind of light frequency you can see if it's present. Having your eyes closed is additional protection. THere is some debate currently about the damaging effects of the blue spectrum on the retina (because our cornea apparently protects from a lot of the UV, but blue comes through). But there's a LOT of blue light in sun light, so we are getting a big dose every day anyway. Just no use in increasing your dosage while using blue light therapy. For my daughter, I bought the "suntan" salon goggles, which are mostly plastic, with film to see through, and are supposed to be UV filters. Dont know if they filter blue, but to be sure, we just put some black tape across the film. -Dan
