My quick lumiport dermastyle review.

First off I was very skeptical acne devices, been ripped off in the past…
After reviewing some posts here I decided to give it a try…

Initial impressions:

It arrived in a nice box, and it looked like a well made device. It also comes with a nice carrying bag. It comes with a 30 day return policy ( minus 10% restocking fee).

Usage and Results:

I was a little confused on how to use the device. It has 3 settings blue, red and combo. I decided to go with 10 min combo, followed by 10 min red. The red setting is suppose to reduce inflammation. So for me 1 pimple = 20 min of treatment time.

Basically this device is only good if your gonna treat 1 or 2 pimples… with 2 pimples I was getting pretty impatient, spending 40 minutes keeping the beam on the pimples…

Currently I am on tane, but I have 2 small pimple (just a red bump, not a whitehead or blackhead) and one mini cyst. They have been stubborn and haven’t gone away in a month. My usual solution is to get a cortisone shot.

I tested the beam on one mini cyst that was slightly inflamed. After 3 days of treatment. It seemed like it was less inflamed. But the cyst remained.

I tested the beam on the small pimples… 1 definitely looked like it was much smaller the next day. The other after a 2 day blast was unaffected.

It seems like the device is somewhat effective, my main gripe was the time for treatment. It was too time consuming for me… looks like its more effective after 2-3 days blasting the pimple. I was hoping one day would do the trick.

Other factors that could affect testing:

1. My skin is a little thicker… one might get better results if your skin is thinner. (more light penetration)

2. I am on tane.

Customer Service:

Customer service was surprisingly good. I was expecting to fight for my money back. They were very responsive with my pre-sales questions. The Return process went smoothly. Got a $134.00 back (less 10% restocking fee).

Conclusion:

If u have one pimple that you would like to blast. And you have the patience to spend 20 min/day for 3 days… you might want to try it…

Update the cyst did actually clear after a week… did the dermastyle do it? Maybe?

Gonna try the zeno next…
