just hopes its unclogs these clogged pores on my jawline.
that and my forehead are the worst places, just cant seem to get them to come to a head, and theytake forever to heal.
the skintextture is a bit messed aswell there.
allthough when i shave it looks much better.

Been on doxycycline for 2months, it took a lot of the redness away quickly and the acne reduced. The lumps which i had under the skin has all gone, its nearly all smooth. Went to my doc today, he gave me lymecycline for 2 months. Im hoping this will do the trick.
For doxy to work, it takes about 4 weeks to start working, i would say 5-6 weeks you start to see your skin change, not as red, less breakouts, breakouts may last longer, bad breakouts now and then, it happends.
Give me your views on "lymecycline" and is it stronger than doxy?
Thanks

So i was given 2 prescriptions of lymecycline and retin-a gel. I think that overall the whole thing is working. i dont have any major spots but i do have the odd tiny pimple which isnt anything that bad, i guess it because im used to them. i think the idea is that the drugs stop the acne forming in the first place and then i use the gel for whatever spots still form. I haven't seen spectacular results but its better than nothing.
the only thing is the prescription length is 2 months. I really dont think im going to see huge improvements over the next month and whats more is that when the medication runs out i just feel the acne is going to just come back...... so i dont see the point of this stuff tbh.
edit: im still going to see the prescription through though

This is my first time on here, but I have spent plenty of time looking at message boards before I do something so I thought it was time to contribute!!!!
I have had acne for the past 16 years and have been on every thing going. I was one of the first people I knew to take Roaccutane (back in 1998) and it worked for about 3 years after and then things started to come back. I then went on Diannette (boobs went huge!), then after thinking that would be it (I tried all the Benzl Peroxide in the world!) my mum pushed me into visiting the dermatologist after a doctors referral. They put my on Lymecycline and Differin gel. AFter 4 months supply things had pretty much cleared up. My main issue is pustules and redness. After a week off the tablets not the gel they started coming back. Luckily the derm put me back on it and things are going well. The spots I had came back but know my skin is looking so much better. I still have bad days, but they are getting fewer.
The main thing I would say to everyone is keep at it. The first month of Lymecycline my skin MASSIVELY flared up and I so nearly gave up then it got really much better and it is still a work in progress. Roaccutane was the same problem, but skin was red and raw but after 2 months things really cleared up and my skin was good for 3 years. The big problem with R is the depression, well it was for me. Being a teenager and having a history of mental illness made life very difficult and would suggest to anyone that if they go on it to have a good support system and to openly talk about things.
The Lymecycline caused acid reflux (not taken with enough water) and mood swings as well as the red face. I think the overall message I am trying to put out there is that things will never work quickly - skin is to thick for it to attack it that quick, but if you do something from the inside an use the recommended creams on the outside, combined with good diet, exercise and happiness and we will all get there. Please DONT use the Clearasil or associated ranges as they dont work. Visit your doctor as soon as you feel uncomfortable. Take your mum - mine was a pushy mum - who wont take the rubbish that the docs will try and throw out to you about 'growing out of it' and try the things they offer you for a good amount of time but do your research and keep going. If it gets bad - go private.
Good luck - and if anyone has had any success with life after Lymecycline (

Hi Lozzy 141!.
Non of these below will ever get rid of your acne !!!.When you stop taking them, it will be even worse!.
* Tetracycline
* Oxytetracycline
* Demeclocycline
* Doxycycline
* Lymecycline
* Minocycline and Accutaine
Dont waste your money on gels, or other crap that don't work!.
Acne comes from a completely different source altogether and that too much oil and small
pores are not the problem.If you want to get rid of your acne ofr good,you have change your diet.
Not only do the antibiotics kill good bacteria they also kill the naturally
occurring bacteria that keep yeast and germs at a minimum. You see, when
you take antibiotics especially long term as you have, the balance in your
bowel is put off kilter and the Candia yeast goes crazy.
When Candida Albicons gets out of control and is
more prevalent, the good bacterium in your body produces too much toxins
for your body to get rid of.
The body doesn’t produce more of anything than it needs, oil or otherwise
unless it is ill.Your body is working hard to eliminate some of the waste and toxins through your skin.
You see the foods we eat today tend to be very high in sugar content and
starches like flour. Add to the amount of unhealthy oils and the colon can
easily become packed with waste that should have been removed from the
body but just sits there feeding bacteria back in to the blood stream. This
leads to many illnesses not just acne. So the poorly eliminating colon
becomes a feeder of toxins the other organs must deal with. The liver
becomes overtaxed and so the skin picks up the slack in eliminating waste.
Detoxify the body and clear the reactions that cause the acne in the first place.
Almost every time Candida is brought under control acne diminishes or
disappears completely.
You need the acidophilus, to replenish the good bacteria and the
garlic pills to kill the yeast off.Take and Vitamin C and B2.This along with eliminating sugar as much as you can virtually assures you of keeping acne a distant memory.

Don't panic! I have used it twice - the first time, a year and a half ago it was my first acne treatment (i have mild/moderate acne) and it worked wonders. My skin got worse again later on because i was so stressed out about exams - i'm now on lymecycline again (once more after exams!), have been for 7 weeks and my skin is improving a lot again. Different things work for different people - i've tried most stuff, and just keep looking if you try something for a while and it doesn't work. Don't give up
