My sis got this issue, she gets them everywhere, even inside her ears. They make her pores huge. What are the reasons people get blackheads, especially as bad as hers? What can be done?

SA can be used to treat blackheads. As soon as Dans comes out, which I heard is supposed to be ready by the end of next month, order his SA

You could try Paula's Choice BHA. Many people on the boards love it. I've been using the 2% liquid BHA for almost a month now and it has reduced my blackheads significantly. Now I can't help touching my nose because it hasn't been this smooth for a really long time! eusa_dance.gif

Thread moved to Blackheads forum.

Blackheads are caused by comedones forming in the pores; these are basically conglomerations of dead skin cells and dried sebum. Once the tip of the comedone is exposed to the air, it oxidizes and turns black or brown.

Salicylic acid and mandelic acid exfoliate deep inside the pore and loosen up the comedones so they come to the surface and can be extracted.

Benzoyl peroxide will cause peeling within the pore as well .... but you have to use 10% BP, and not everyone's skin can take it.

If using four times as much of a 2.5% BP solution the same as using a 10% BP once?
