I was passing by a spa and they were selling handheld treatments and the lady at thespa said the Red Light Treatments would be perfect for healing and evening out skintone. I read the box/pamphlet and it said guaranteed to diminsh lines, marks, even skin tone. The Red light was 950nm isnt most of them at 660nm?

Someone give me some light on this

950 is near infra red or infra red i can't remember which, 660 is to aid collagen production and skin healing, the near infra red spectrum is used to increase blood flow and do another job in realeasing a chemical which i can't remember the name of... Alot of the facial treatments use both 660 and 880nm to get maximum benefit, i havent heard much about 950 though if i'm honest...

Yes that is in the near infrared spectrum. Yes the 660 range is designed for healing the skin and reducing inflammation. Near infrared light is known to heal wounds by up to 40 percent faster, the infrared light penetrates very deeply (to the subcutaneous layer) and helps ATP production and cell renewal. There is even speculation that it may help reduce wrinkles. I have also heard of NI light shrinking the pores.
