I've been taking tetracycline antibiotics for a month now and I also recently bought the Dermastyle light pen to treat my acne. The instruction leaflet for the Dermastyle said to consult a doctor before using the pen if you are taking any medication that increases skin sensitivity to light - which tetracyclines do.
I want to use my dermastyle but don't want to take the risk of damaging my skin. Can someone allay my fears - should I use the dermastyle yet or wait until I'm off the tetracyclines?
(NB. I don't want to mention the issue to my doctor/dermatologist as it seems a trivial issue to book an appointment for and will cause hassle and embarassment).
Compatibility of dermastyle light pen with tetracycline treatment
