I have a big pimple/cyst on my scalp. Aside from that cyst, my acne's quite moderate. I've went to the doctor about the big pimple/cyst, he examined it and said it was a pimple with a cyst growing underneath it, and that it would cause a permanent bald spot. He told me to put some already-prescribed Clindoxyl Gel (5% Benzoyl Peroxide) on it . I'm growing my hair out (I'm a guy, bangs about middle-of-the-nose length), and I usually part my bangs in the middle, and the cyst is almost dead center. It's very embarrassing to go outside and walk around with a bald spot right before the hairline about the of a half-penny. Now, my doctor isn't a dermatologist, will a permanent bald spot form?

I've been putting a hot towel on my scalp regularly everyday now for about 15 minutes to try and flatten the cyst out, sometimes applying pressure. So far, I haven't really noticed too big a change in appearance, but it has flattened out a bit and it doesn't look inflamed anymore. I've read on the site that you should instead ice it, does me putting a hot towel on it have adverse effects?

Pics will be provided in the morning if needed.

Thanks in advance.

Haven't been able to post in a while.

My cyst on my forehead is almost gone; it's only 1 cm in diameter now and it's almost flat. I'm still worried about it, though: usually, how long does it take to go away and how long for the hair to grow back? Again, I've been putting pressure to it, and I use the hottest possible water on the towel. Some sebum came out a couple of times. Will this stunt my hair regrowth in any way?

I've also gotten another cyst - A big one, between my eyebrows. I've also been putting a hot towel on it, and some sebum's been coming out. After I use the hot towel in this area, it makes a few distinct red marks on my face. Will this scar?

I had one long long long time ago. It was soft to the touch, I went to the doctor they told me just put warm compresses on it. After a couple of weeks, it went down by itself.

Hi..I'm Canadian as well. This is what you need to do...get some Zincofax 40% cream..available at Shoppers Drug Mart...Safeway..and apply some to your red spot at bed time...its a thicker consistency and a little bit goes a long way..the redness will be gone in no time..>I had a bad break out just before Christmas last year and in a weeks time the postacneic red marks disappeared...goodluck eh.
