I thought my acne problems were over after taking Accutane. It was been just over a year that my face has been completely clear until now.

I have really noticed that I only get new breakouts (whiteheads) after I shave my face. I know know that my new acne problem is Pseudofolliculitis Barbae. Pseudofolliculitis Barbae is the condition where the bacteria gets into your face after you shave. The trick is to kill the bacteria immedeatly after you save with BP or salicylic acid. I have been using both (not at the same time) for about 6 months. It's not working. I also clean my razer in alcohol and I shave my face the way a dermatologist told me too.

I am a 17 year old male and I grow so much facial hair I need to shave everyday but I am so afraid to shave now that I have no choice.

I haven't been shaving for about 7 days. The acne is going away and healing, no new breakouts.

The problem is if I keep this up I am going to look like Bin Laden in no time.

I think lazer hair removal is my best option right now.

I want to ask you guys this:

What the general costs are and if it is a good idea or not?

Thanks wink.gif

Dude im giving this advice in a very general way. For two reasons. 1. It wasnt my experience it was a friend. 2. My friend is a girl and ur obviously a bloke.

However she did have some hair which she shaved and watever, being extremly self concious about any hair, so she developed acne around the jawline area. She had the laser treatment hair removal done and everything including the acne has gone away.

Just remember this means ull never be about to grow a beard when u go bald in ur 50's.

Not having facial hair now may not be a problem, but indeed, think long and hard about this.
