Hi Everyone!
I've tried several Rx and non-Rx treatments over the years and nothing seems to help my oily/blackhead prone/mildly acne prone skin so I've decided to try accutane. My skin condition is not severe, but bad enough for me to seek more powerful treatment--- so here is my question. Will I see results by taking 10 mg of the drug for just 40 days? Or will I need to take at least 3 month's worth?
Thanks,
Reema
quick question

I think with accutane you need to take it for a long period of time for it to work long term. A 10mg dose is really light so the side effects will most probably be minimal but i do think you need to take it for at least 3-4 months maybe more.

it depends on your weight. the usual dose for cystic acne is 1mg/kg body weight.
thus if you weight 40kg (use google to convert your weight), you would take 40mg.
10mg is pretty low, so it might take 2 or 3 months before you see good results.
however, everyone responds differently. you might have an initial breakout, you might not.
speaking from experience, usually the higher the dose, the less sebum produced, faster clearing.
