I think the only thing that would make it better is if it came with a strapping young cabana boy, all oiled and wrapped, as a free gift. Then I would just go ahead and give them my soul.

like the men from the movie '300' - eusa_drool.gif

YES PLEASE! eusa_drool.gif eusa_drool.gif

Hi I´m new here.

I have to ask you, if some of you have some trouble with EM and wrinkles?

I´m 30 and have som fine lines and wrinkles that comes with my age whistling.gif).
I really like mineral foundation but my lines seems to be more visible with mineral foundation.
I tried golden fair intensive and fawn intensive. Golden fair looks good now, but I think fawn will be better in winter time.

What can I do prevent the foundation to make my lines look "worse" rolleyes.gif ?

When my mom first tried MMU she had the same issues-The thing that can easily solve that problem for you is getting a REALLY good primer that you can apply every time. Preferably one that is "anti aging", smashbox has a good one with Dermaxyl Complex which minimizes the appearance of wrinkles. Or you could get the smashbox "color corrector" if you are like most people on this board who are struggling with breakouts. My mom got the smashbox primer with the dermaxyl and she loves it.

...wynne, which brush from BM made u itchy? mine were rough n made me itch at first, but it got smoother once i washed them.

It was the blush brush. I don't use that one anymore; I use their kabuki and concealer brush and have no problems with either. I have used the blush brush maybe two times, so I guess I'll wash it and see if that helps it!

I am using a cheapie flat top kabuki from a drugstore and it works fine, but I am tempted to try either the AN or the EM brushes...but I'm not going to buy anymore brushes right now! smile.gif

I also have a lot of actual artist brushes for oil and watercolor. I'm using them to apply eyeshadows and they work beautifully! biggrin.gif Already had them, so no new expenses for eyeshadow brushes. wink.gif They actually cost more than most makeup brushes, but they work very well and I did not see the point in buying anything else when I already had something that would work well. And it does.

It may be how you are applying it that is causing the coverage to be so minimal. I suggest you mix a dime sized amount of EDM with a dime size amount of your favorite moisterizer and use this as your base. Then brush on, one light coat of your foundation and conceal. I think if you use this technique you will get better coverage.

Thanks for the tip, but I'm not having any troubles with getting good coverage. smile.gif I was just sharing some 'brushes experience.'

Perhaps you meant your advice for the other people who were having trouble with coverage?

Yes I am new and I am still trying to get the hang out quoting people. woops smile.gif

a silicone based primer does wonders. i suffer from the same problem due to both age and sun damage and the primer makes big difference. i use The Present by Philosophy.

oooh oooh, I just got my two shades of fullsize foundation, concealer, finishing silk, two small eye shadows (In The Garden and Hot Chocolate), blush (Siesta), blush brush (not quite as soft as my joppa brush), and a free sample of Cherry Fiz eyeshadow/blush.

I love clearing out my makeup box and putting new stuff in, but EM's containers are so wide they don't fit into the top trays! Argh, oh well the containers are way cute.

Can't wait to get up in the morning and put on all my new stuff. smile.gif

Am I missing something or is there no way to order samples other than in the sample kits? I want a finishing powder. I guess it was AN that let you add additional samples for $.99 each.

I got my order today! That was pretty quick. I got the cherry fizz blush & baby kabuki (more like a mini blush brush, IMO) after all eusa_dance.gif

Does anyone know if EM varies their container lids? My last foundation lid was green & this one is brown...or did they change them all to brown? The only thing I can think of is that my foundation color used to be grouped as a warm & now it is neutral...so maybe they have different lid colors for each group...I know it's dumb, I'm just curious biggrin.gif

You're going to find that those wide containers are great for swirling your brush in & pouring out some concealer or blush in to use. You end up with little to no mess that way (cuz let's face it, powder can be messy).

I would suggest emailing them & asking. They have very good customer service & get back to you very quickly.

Yes, powder makeup can get messy, which can be wasteful too. I started placing all my makeup containers on a hand mirror, instead of right on the counter top. When I'm done applying my makeup, I just swirl everything on the mirror up and use it!

Yer there foundations, concealers (anything brown; skin colour) they have changed them to brown lids. But the blushes stay to the green lids. I really like it, now its much easier to tell apart from foundations and blushes.
How is the Cherry Fizz?

Oh and keep a look out on the EM site, in the next 48 hours, there site will upgrade including the new kits, swatches, foundation reorganization. etc. Cant wait! eusa_dance.gif

My blush came in a brown lid. :< It's silly, but I was hoping they'd all be green too lol. I like green.

I keep them in a certain order in my makeup box, to I don't get them confused anyway.

Thanks for answer. I ordered smashbox primer since I heard well about it smile.gif.

I want to order large sizes now. I have Intensive in foundation, but I would like it just a bit glowy.
Original glow seems to be to glowy (after reading on the board).
If I use the Pure silk dust, do you think it will add some mor glow to the Intensive foundations?

Other suggestions?

You might want to use an all over face color to add some glow. Are you looking for a dewy look or a colorful glow?

I just got the pure silk dust & if anything it is even more mattifying. It seems to minimize my pores though; they are not so noticeable. I think I like it so far.
If you want more sheen, try a translucent all over face color. There are several described as giving a glow. Also, the semi-matte foundation is still pretty glowy, IMO. It was still much too shimmery for me.

I have a question about their Premium Foundation Brush. I know how to use a foundation brush with creams and liquid, but I feel so silly being stumped as to how to use it with powder and have the application be even.

What I've been doing is using my Bare Minerals Handy Buki brush (which I love) to apply, then going back with the EM brush to get another layer on certain areas, then using my concealer for details. It works well....but am I even doing it right? lol I swirl it and tap just like any other brush. I guess I'm just not used to using this kind of brush with powder. If there's a "right" way to do it that will work better, that's always nice to know.

My brain is like "YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG!"

If its working for you and your getting good coverage i would stick with it. I know some people use this brush to apply their minerals and they love it!
But if you want to try something else, maybe order their premium kabuki. Kabuki brushes give more coverage with an even finish in less layers.

Yep! I ordered over the weekend and received it a couple days later. They might have just been filtering out their green lids to switch to brown.

How big is this Kabuki brush? Is it, say, the size of a baby's fist or an adult's palm? My face isn't very large so I have a hard time with big brushes, and some kabuki brushes are huuuuge. I could always go for the smaller kabuki they offer. I've been considering it.

if you want a smaller brush, i strongly recommend The Supernatural Multi-Use Brush by Philosophy

this is the only brush i will use to apply my MMU. it's a really nice, soft brush.

Just want a glow so that the make-up looks a bit more natural.

I´m thinking of ordering Natural Blush , since it seems like the finishing dust dosen´t do what I want them to do....

But I have to ask, what do you guys meen with a dewy look?

It means it'll make your skin look well moisturized as apposed to completely free of shine (matte). So it'll give you a moist look without looking oily or shiny (hopefully).
