Oh my god im so excited! I got my sample kit today, i ordered it like 10 days ago. I tried it right away. The foundations are awesome! The medium beige looks very natural on me eusa_dance.gif . I got the Back to School blush, which is marvelous also! smile.gif

However, i was quite disappointed with the Mint concealer, it didn't cover up my pimples and the redness and looked quite obvious. I have many redmarks left after my acne, so which concealer do you think would be the best?
I think im gonna order another sample kit lol.gif I want to try out other foundations and blush. This is the first time i've used mineral makeup so i was quite clumsy with all the powder. Anyway i fell in love with it already. EM rocks!!!

A really good green concealer is from Lily Lolo. It´s more dusty green and its great for read marks. But its another brand....

Ok, y'all are just in love with Everyday Minerals. I'm too scared to try mineral makeup again. I have tried Bare Minerals and it wrecked my skin. I was red, itchy, blotchy within weeks. Has anyone here had this problem, then switched to Everyday Minerals and then been just fine? Please let me know! I'd love to find a good mineral makeup line!

I didn't get to pick my blush either and the one I got has too much shimmer for my liking. I am willing to trade if someone is interested. I only used it once to test it.

aww sorry babes. the problem with BM is the ingredients - particularly bismuth oxychloride. it's known to wreak havoc on the skin. most of us MMU users were BM users at some point and had similar nightmare experiences. give EM a try - order their sample kit - it's free, u just pay for shipping. if ur not sure about the shade of foundation, send them a pic of urself in natural light and ask for their help. they are awesome. don't get discouraged - just keep trying. EM doesnt have bismuth in it - it makes a huge difference.

The green concealor isn't really good for spots, I've found, unless they're really, really red. If you have big patches of red, red marks, or rosecea, it works marvelously. biggrin.gif I actually just put the absolute LIGHTEST dusting on a kabuki, and dust over my red spots and it helps a ton! :]

Oh, and I think I wanna email a testimonial in now. eusa_dance.gif

fio,
i am fairly new to MMU but i heard (or read) somewhere you can mix a tad of that green concealer with your moisterizer and spread that mixture all over. Don't know it that will help or not.
Are you trying to put to much on the brush before you buff??
IDK like i said i am pretty new to MMU.
What formulation were you using (matte, semi matte, origional glo, or intense)
maybe u should switch formulations.
Keep trying, and good luck.

There's some controversy going on with EM, which I thought i might let you ladies know.

Someone complained to Carina (which Carina posted in the blog here http://www.everydayminerals.com/wordpress/?p=117#comments post number #126)
I love Carina and the whole EM family, the honesty in their company is wonderful. Im glad she let us know.

QUOTE(JenMyMy @ Aug 28 2007, 01:30 PM)
Ok, pardon my ignorance in this area, but I don't get it. I haven't ever worn makeup, aside from a three month phase I went through when I was 14...One day I saw that it left that ugly line around my chin cause it was the wrong color and I never wore anything again. I do wear lipstick tho, one shade always the same....

My question is, how long does it take you to do your makeup? I saw the infomercial for EM on the other night and she made it look like it was brush brush and then BEAUTY....I thought, now that I could do. Plus, I've never worn makeup so its gotta be pretty foolproof, matching colors, and apples of cheeks, and liners, ack, makes my head spin. Is it pretty simple and you guys are just pros, or are there lots of tricks with it? I need foolproof, easy, or I'm gonna stick to fresh faced... I just want a way to look dolled-up sometimes

It takes me about 15-20 minutes to do my makeup in the morning. I have stubborn red marks that needs good coverage. Practice Practice Practice. Once you start you will get the hang of it, and have tricks of your own. sideways.gif

All right, so I'm still not thrilled with EDM's coverage. I have tried both the original glo and intensive formulas, and honestly there seemed to be no difference whatsoever, except the intensive looked darker in the container.

*However.* This is a big however. My skin, for what it is, looks very, very good without makeup on at this point. I am pretty sure that EDM is to thank for this, because this development happened two days into my EDM experiment, and I've changed nothing else in lifestyle since then. Also, my skin is just lovely to touch - which of course is counterproductive, because now I want to touch my face to feel how soft it is, and that's a big no-no. EDM is also the only MMU I've ever used that has not left me flaky.

I've used MMU before, so I don't think I'm a dunce with application, but I am thinking that I'm perhaps not applying it right. EDM's website says that the samples are good for 3-6 applications. I've used over 6 applications of the intensive MMU, and I still have a ton left. Maybe I need to use more.

Or maybe a finishing powder would help? I don't have a lot of breakouts anymore, but I have scarring (which I don't expect EDM to make that disappear) and some large pores on my cheeks that I'd like better coverage on. I think that I am going to order some full size stuff from EDM. I am going to buy their Kabuki brush too, to see if that helps.

Anyways, I have fair skin with pinky undertones. Anybody want to recommend a finishing powder?

OH! And their blushes - holy cricket, are they pigmented. I used just a tiny touch and looked like Bozo's street walking sister. These suckers go a looooong way, which is nice as far as value goes! I'm not an everyday blush wearer, so a sample size would last me probably a good year if not more.

I'm going to experiment with a wet application with intensive (Fair) foundation, and see if that gives me the coverage I want. I'm pretty optimistic that I *can* get the coverage I want out of EDM, and it's just a matter of getting the right tools/technique/finishing powder. Good thing I love to experiment with makeup!

Edited to add: Fair is apparently a little too pale for me, which is compounded when I apply it wet - I ended up with really good coverage, but pale "death warmed over" in color. I mixed my medium sample with my fair sample (Why didn't I order Medium Fair?) and now I have really great coverage! I think I'm going to end up ordering a full size foundation in Intensive Medium Fair.
