Well, maybe. Not to say there's anything wrong with your skin but some people don't like how minerals look on their skin perhaps because of their pores and fine lines. I remember disliking it cause it did the same for me, (when I wore it alone) magnified all my flaws and it wouldn't stay on at all!

Hopefully someone else has more advice....

I'm part of the cult here and am probably one of the palest people here hah. I wear the color Ivory and it matches my skin PERFECT! I use semi-matte and am in love with how it looks! I used to use BM, but the price was getting to me and since it had a more shimmery effect on my face it sometimes magnified my acne issues. I love EDM! <3

Nessa I know you mentioned Monistat as I just recently read several things about using it as a primer, can I ask where you can find it? I've looked at every local store here and was unable to find the particular one. Please don't tell me it's been discontinued or I'll cry! Is this (Monistat Soothing Care Chafing Relief Powder-Gel 1.5 oz (42 g)) the same formulation as people have spoken of? If so I'll just order it from there.

Yeah, that's the one! I bought mine at Target and I don't belive it's discontinued. It should be by the "feminine care" products lol. If you can't find it in a store I'm sure you can find it at drugstore.com. It's in a long, thin dark blue tube so the box is probably a small-ish, dark blue and rectangular. Hope that helps!

no idea about the pressed powders. You can only order one free sample kit at a time and you have to pay for shipping.

Does anyone know if you can still buy the full size kits? I can't seem to find them on the EM site.

EDM announced that they would be discontinuing the kits sometime last year because of "resellers". A lot of people stocked up on their favourites; some purchased several kits to get the most out of the deal. After a couple months, they decided to keep the kits, which angered some people for being duped into buying mass quantities, though the reaction was mostly relief. Then, without warning, the kits were taken away with the new website.

Instead of the kits, there are now "beauty perks". Purchase 5-11 full sized items and get 25% off, or buy 12+ items and get 45% off. Like with the kits, items under "collections" or Everyday Naturals (their collection of denim handbags and brush rolls) do not apply for the discount.

So after doing my research I have decided to purchase EM.

Now my question is when I go to place my order it asks wheter I want semi-matte, matte, intensive or original glo. Now my question is what is the difference between all these?

Thanks in advance to all that respond, much appreciated. xD

Thanks for the info. How disssapointing, tho. It was so much cheaper when you could get 6 full size items for, like 35 dollars. At least they still have the discounts.
I can't seem to find the forums anymore, either. I guess they got rid of that, too? Probably people complained about the company too much on them.

I mostly lurk on this forum and visited this thread a lot last year. I was a huge EDM fan and used their foundation exclusively for a solid 8 or 9 months. But things have changed, and I hope ya'll don't mind me sharing my story. Just for background, I've been struggling with my skin (well, since my teens but) most recently since I stopped using BP in Feb 09. Like lots (most) of the people on this forum, the journey to clear(er) skin has taken me through a lot of products and trial and error. I think EDM was an error for me. I started using it in March. My acne got progressively worse, reaching its worst point over the summer (went from 5 or 6 spots on my chin in February, to enflamed cheeks, then enflamed nose & forehead - with maybe 12 - 15 big enflamed spots all over my face by July/August).

By early fall, I found Garden of Wisdom skincare and Chagrin Valley soaps and, with the help of the GoW forum, I started a stripped down more "natural" and gentle routine. My skin started to heal and clear up, but I still had 6 or 7 enflamed spots at any given time. After EDM took their forum down, and one of the members started another forum (http://www.87px.net/mmf/index.php) to replace it, a lot of EDM users started coming forward with their experiences with the brand. Several people had some pretty bad reactions (both allergic & acne) and suspected EDM changed their formulas or was possibly unaware or silent regarding a change in the quality of their ingredients (please check out the forum for more info; you have to register, but there is a lot of information on various makeup brands, and lots of great OT chat too smile.gif ).

So, I decided to stop using EDM bases, concealers, and finishing powders entirely at the end of December, and within two weeks my skin was noticeably clearer. I now only have one or two enflamed spots at a time (mostly around TTOTM), and they are much smaller/more manageable. Also, ruling out other causes, I haven't changed anything in my skin care or supplement routine since October. I was most recently using EDM intensive formula in buff perfect, but I had also used all of the other formulas, alone or in some combo in the past as well (and in other shades as I struggled w/ finding the right color). All of my product lids were white, as that seems to be a factor (brown lidded products seem not to cause reactions as much).

I've returned to liquid foundation for the time being (Almay TLC & Revlon Colorstay) and am very cautiously looking at other mineral makeup brands.

Since I was using a lot of different stuff during the point when my acne was the worst (last spring & summer), I'm not saying that I can definitively blame EDM for the bulk of my acne. And I know that even if EDM creates or worsens acne in some, it may not cause the same reaction in others. What I DO know for sure is that my face cleared significantly once I stopped using even a touch of EDM concealer, base, or powder.

I don't want to be a hater on this EDM Cult thread, but I felt I needed to share my experience with others and also point people toward a place where they can get more information to make a more fully informed decision about their makeup.

Thanks.

I ordered my first EM samples. I think my skin falls into the cool category based on the experimenting I've been doing. My eyes are kind of grey and I was wondering what color eye shadows would do well with them.

I hate the new website. They don't explain the formulas. You can't get the mixing jars. They stopped selling my blush brush and I cannot stand the way the sample kits are now. Grrr!

I'm looking for a concealer to match my skin tone. I tried intensive fair concealer (too light) and intensive medium concealer (too dark). For my base, Fair Medium seems just right. I don't see a Fair Medium concealer though. Other than mixing the too concealers I got samples of, does anyone have any recommendations?

Hi
I would need some help on choosing a blush.
I have fair skin with yellow undertones, my eyes and hair are brown. However my overall appearance is more in the cool side, warm shades do not look good on me.
What EDM blush would you recommend for me to try?

Thank you smile.gif
