i've somehow managed to get to week 6 of my accutane treatment and its still getting worse. i hardly go out the house now since my make-up won't even go on my face. my face and body is peeling yet i'm still waking up with huge yellow spots, and my lips are so cracked they are bleeding.

before is started accutane i went on the sunbed and found that helped slightly but since going on accutane i haven't been on because i know u aren't meant 2 but i'm desperate now! i wondered if any1 else has used sunbeds and if it helped or made things worse? thanks for any advice xx

I tanned a lot in my twenties. I'm 40 this month. I'm getting a basal cell carcinoma removed from my FACE the day after I turn 40. Tanning is not worth it.

Photosensitivity is a side effect of Accutane; you should know that.

It will only make things worse, if your really that concerned go see a dermatologist again because from all accounts Accutane should show results in three-four weeks.

It kills the sebaceous glands see (http://en.wikipedia....Sebaceous_gland) which produces the sebum (a lipid, or otherwise known as a fat) which causes blockages in acne. If you think the person right now is incompetent, then get a referral to another doctor for another opinion.

This is why dry lips and dry eyes are always reported by those who use accutane. If your having side effects I'd recommend stopping treatment.

Six months seems excessive to me.

Think you will find it often takes alot longer than 3-4 weeks to see results... but don't touch the sun beds, very very bad idea....
