ive had a beuatyskin lamp now for about a week,i was just wondering if people suffer an intial break out or worsening of there acne before things started to improve???
my skin has been abit worse this first week, more than usual, just wondering if its the lamp, it does actually say in the instructions that acne does get worse before it gets better but most acne treatments say that! anyway just wondered if anybody had similar experience,thanks....

Yes, I've had the same thing. Mine took longer though. For the first 4 weeks things were fine, then I had a flare up that has now lasted for a week. You're right the Beautyskin manual states that this is normal. That's reassuring. I also found this ...
"There are normally no immediate signs of treatment. Most see a visible difference in their acne within 6 weeks after just one treatment, although we normally recommend 2 Nlite treatments, 4 weeks apart, or an Nlite followed by a series of Omnilux to make a recurrence less likely. Some patients may see a temporary flare up of their acne about 4 weeks after their first treatment due to the dying bacteria coming to the surface of the skin."
It's from ... http://www.laserlightclinic.co.uk/acne.htm
So it looks like dead bacteria "may" be the culprit.
The original Dr Chu blue/red light study also noted that a small percentage of people on the trial had a worsening of their acne and discontinued treatment. Perhaps if they had persisted they would have had good results in the longer term.
Either way, I'm sticking with it until at least 12 weeks are up. Most other treatments require this kind of period. No reason to think that light will be any different.
