I am current in month 3 40mg twice a day. Initially I broke out pretty bad its calming down. But I have left over what look like maybe scars they are red almost purple marks where I had the breakout almost like a bruise. They were small cyst but cleared up just a few on my jawline and forehead that I got some cortisone on but a few did not go all the way down.

My main question and concern is why are these red marks taking so long to go away they are not permanent right? I had one on my chest that cleared up about 2-3 weeks ago and the red mark is still there. Is it because I am healing slowly because the accutane?

Last questions should I request and medication for my redness? I am also on ampicillin 250mg twice a day along with my accutane. Should I request to be upped to 60mg?

The red marks will eventually fade, you will probably want to wait until after your course is over before you try and tackle them...they do take longer to go for some people when on accutane e.g. myself... they will fade faster once you finish, i don't think you should request anything for the red marks at the mo, your skin is very sensitive and your liver under enough load, it is best to wait until your done with tane before you tackle them.

When you say up your dose to 60mg are you talking about tane? if so no i don't think upping your dose will help, it could cause another breakout, so if your relatively clear stick with what your on!!
