YEAR IN REVIEW THREAD AUGUST 2006 - AUGUST 2007

I looked back a period of one YEAR and posted links to all the threads that were important in some way. Because they had many responders, funny, serious, informative, or whatever.

You might find something useful or funny, so enjoy. I've included a brief description so you won't have to click all the links to know what they are about.

Criteria to be posted:

1 - Posted in the last YEAR OR commented on in the past year.
2 - Have at least 40 responses.

Note: I chose 40+ as the magic number because when I attempted 50+ responses it was leaving out far too many threads that were of particular value, but when I considered threads with less than 40 responses it became too many to create a useful list to put in this thread. Given that tidbit be aware there are threads that are great that contain very few responses as well.

Conclusion. Roughly 3,600 Threads condensed to just 160 (about 4.5%)

This thread still needs some work. For one thing I need help with some of these names, some have changed and need to be referenced, for example R.S. used to be rubber sheep. I would like help identifying those poeple.

Secondly. Being that I went quickly I may not have given 100% correct, or thorough thread descriptions. If you feel something really needs to be changed, write the new description then PM me with it along with the url on the page so I know which to apply the change to.

Lastly. If anyone wants to do something similar along this format, for the preceeding years, that would be great. I could append the new information to the end of this thread so that we have a correctly ordered history of most popular threads for this side of the forum.

Thanks man, that looks like it took a lot of work. This should help a lot of people. You could change the description for the top one to "What Can Be Achieved Using Holistic Methods" because it's not showing the full URL.

That's good. After I typed all that last night I was too tired to go searching for all the names and get the history of changes. Thanks.

Yup. lost or forgotten, or just a pain to try to find again. Now you can bookmark to this thread, or refer to it when a new user want information and doesn't have anywhere to start, or doesn't want to waste time skimming over mountains of threads. I filtered 144 pages I think.

to go down the holistic route smile.gif

I do think its should be a sticky myself. Its taken awhile to create this thread and the information in each thread is very helpful. Maybe instead of putting the most replies you could bunch them in groups? i.e. all sex ones, all vitamin ones etc but second thoughts I think what youve done is better.

Stickied it for now so people can see it and contribute if they want. If you guys want to edit it or change the format, we can do that at a later date.

Thanks. eusa_dance.gif

I considered other formats, and debated on adding a few additional things, but I didn't want my description in the beginning to overshadow the importance of the threads posted below.

Sooooo........I kept it simple.

Having said that, there probably is a better way to do it. So if anyone can take the already posted information and find a better presentation method, it would be greatly appreciated.

One thing to note is it does no good at all to group them by topic if a preceeding linked index cannot redirect to a corresponding place further down the page. It would become annoying to see an index and then still have to scroll to the right place. If this is possible to do in the forums then that would be ideal.

Not a problem, it needed done and I see that's it already been very useful in finding old threads that were worth visiting again and researching more.

I usually overlook the stickies, but my eye just caught this one. You are so thoughtful to put this together. This must be such a help to all the newbies - great idea. smile.gif

I think it's about time this thread was updated. I intend to update it soon but just this week I bought a new condo and am in the process of moving and I bought a new car a week ago as well. I'm in the process of some new training at work so I'm insanely busy.

One question I have for everyone is should I expand on the current list to include this past years notable threads, OR reverse list the new and most notable threads and move the old ones to the bottom of the list. I don't really want to erase the ones I have listed as they are still useful.

Double bump, are people still looking at the pinned threads lol.

In the next month or so I'll get this thread updated, my home closing is supposed to take place at the end of this month (provided no more suprises), and after that I have the pleasure of moving all my junk yippie.
