Hi guys, I have SAD (sesonal affective disorder a type of depression) and I was looking around for light boxes. I found one portable light box that gives off BLUE LIGHT! And I also read the Wikipedia entry on light therapy (http://en.wikipedia....i/Light_therapy) which says this works for Acne. It says that blue light inbetween 405-420 nm is best for acne. I found a light called GoLite by apollo. It starts emitting light at 450 and peaks at 470. Do you think that this would still work at reducing acne? Here is a link to the site - http://www.apollolight.com/golite_p2.html
I am a little concerned that the light is not in the range given by wikipedia/studies ...also you'd think that they'd be pushing the skin benefits too if it would work. What do you guys think?
will light therapy boxes for SAD work for acne too??

Ok just semi answered my own question - http://www.acne.org/messageboard/index.php?showtopic=118454
But! I also read that normal light boxes are supposed to help acne - since the sun helps but has harmful UV rays. Can anyone find some definitive advice about whether light box therapy also helps acne?? I'm having trouble but I swear I heard it.

i had the 470 for a few days... in that time i used it everyday and got zero results.
i then got the 415nm... i got results after the first day.
you have to be under 420nm to really do anything.
