I didn't really start clearing until I was off accutance (5 month course). During that 5 months I doubted accutane because it was taking so long but now I'm a believer! Been off for 3 months, and clear for 3 months! Still have some red marks to deal with, but they sure beat cysts. Another issue I think I had with accutane was hair loss. Near the end of my course, probably starting from about month 4, I noticed my hair line receeding in the corners. I looked online and sure enough, accutane is linked to hair loss but was relieved to read that most patients grow it back. But after reading the thread on this forum specifically about hairloss and accutane, I was worried because somewhere in there it said that accutance can speed up the male pattern baldness timeline, which I understood to be irreversible. But I want to say that I think it's starting to regrow in one of my corners, and I think my other corner is a little bit behind, but I see a couple sprouts there. So if you're worried about accutane not working, give it time, mine took the full course before it took action; I'm glad I stuck with it, accutane is by far the best decision I've made in a while. Also, the hairloss subject for me is a sensitive one, especially as I'm only 20 years old but I'm no doubt experiencing regrowth, even where it seems it should be doomed. Good luck with your accutane course! It's worth every minute of dry lips.
