I dunno... A lot of you people seem to have been around the block a few times and I'm reading up on all this stuff about Accutane and it seems like it's both a hassle and kind of scary.
I've only been on Amoxicillin and Minocycline so far. So I was wondering is it worth it to take the next step to Accutane? Or is there a safer alternative?
I really don't care about the effects of Accutane, I can handle them easy. I just want the acne gone.
Should I even get Accutane?

Trust me, it's not scary. It's just a pill, that will help with your acne (definitely) and it's for those who've exhausted all the other options or have severe acne. The side effects are different for everyone, and everyone will react differently. If you think you should go on Accutane, talk to your derm, and don't worry about the "horror" stories. I think that for every horror story, there's like 10 success stories (or more, I have no idea lol)
Good luck!

The way I see it. It's just the process towards clear skin(most likely since it's about 95% that your acne will have cleared up by the end, but definitely not that high of a % for curing) and through the process there are some little road bumps.
If you're not ready to take the side effects that *can* be somewhat irritating at times, then you're not willing enough to clear up your skin.
Just try to think of it in this single perspective: if acne is hampering your life in such a critical way, then definitely go for it. Your derm will be able to check up on you throughout it anyways.

Thanks guys, it was fast, but that actually helped my decision a lot. I'm really glad I found this site lol. Maybe once I find out where my camera is I can take some nice before and after pictures.

well i been on tane twice. i guess if you dont need your body to heal properly take it. ive been off tane for 2 years now i still get acne except my red marks stay. i also get bruised, burnt easily. my skin is itchy and i also get red itchy imflamation. hmmm what else oh when i was on tane i became suicidal one night for no reason at all even though i had a great day. I think its upto you but it aint no wonder drug for some people. my skin isnt the worste in the world but all i can say is my body has definatly changed since. i also got fatter on tane. i took orotane so im not sure if the generic is better but if your not a active sporty person wont be so bad. but if you like sport and like to heal quikly and properly id say stay clear. For example my friend just scraped my face and i had a massive scratch that was overboard. also someone grabed me by the arm and i bruised like a old lady. my eyes are extremly sensitive to the sun and im pretty sure that i cant smell or breathe properly through my nose now. I cant be sure that all has been cause by orotane but i know for a fact my red marks and healing is terrible. i think its dermtitis i get on my cheeks its red and itchy goes away and comes back.
I DID CLEAR WHILE ON TANE THOUGH so if your acne is terrible take it i guess but there could be some side effects so be very carefull.
anyone have any ideas on making my skin go back to normal with healing ect. cause its been 2 years now and i wouldnt mind being able to heal properly.
oops also i forgot i recieved 2 degree burns on my nose although was my own fault i didnt wear sunscreen 1 day. so if you do take wear sunscreen plz

Well that's pretty disheartening... Though the other two did say for every horror story there's 10 success stories...
Anyone else have the same problem?

look it wasnt no horror storey coz i only have a mild skin condition its just the side effects were not worth it coz i do boxing and cant really do martial arts coz my skin doesnt heal well. its only a horror to sporting success which i was not warned about by my derm. i get worried bout injuring coz i dont heal that is the biggest problem for me now.
