well in australia, theres no ipledge the first trip to the first derm I ever saw she gave me accutane. You go for a blood test before the drug to make sure you are not pregnant and your cholesterol and everything is ok spelling there I'm to lazy to look that word up lol
I went for my blood test and two days later I was on accutane, actually I had the accutane in my house but had to wait for the results back before I could take one.

They usually do a liver function/cholesterol test on you before you start. Accutane can be pretty harsh on your liver, so if you have any underlying liver problems before you start these are picked up before you start accutane (and possibly destroy your liver).
My Dr also tested my hormone levels at the same time

I think men need to register on ipledge. but you won't have a waiting period before you start because there is no chance of pregnancy. You doctor will guide you thru it.
