I just got it today...so I'll be updating my progress if anyone shows interest.

They first washed my face, gave me a microdermbrasion, applied the levulan solution...then after an hour they put me under a light.

The microdermabrasion feels like a cats tongue times 10...or more. It didnt hurt much. When they applied to levulan it burned but never serious pain.

Right after everything done I was midely red and as the day keeps going by, my face gets redder and redder. Every once and while I'l sort of get a hot flash feeling and need to but something cold over my face, the burning sensation doesnt last very long.

I noticed right away my blackheads are gone! I have many red blotches from the procedure bt I was told they'll go away no problem when my face fully heals. It looks mostly like a really bad sunburn.

I have to use special face care products that moisturize alot! They also have healing ingredient such as vitamins and zinc.

What time of day did you have the procedure done? I went in for a consult a few months ago, and the derm said he does his procedures only late in the day so that you can have the evening to recoup, and there is supposedly less down time.

What is your ethinic origin? I am Asian and wonder how the results would be on my skin.

How many procedures does the derm suggest, and what is the cost? Mine quoted 4 procedures totaling $2,200 and $3,600 (or $3,800--can't remember) if I add in Vbeam laser in between.

And how severe is your acne? Do you currently have breakouts? Did the derm tell you what kind of results to expect and how long the results might last?

you probably had the diamond tip micro derm done.

those are so much better than the sand blasting type. which are messy and hurt.

i get a diamond tip microderm done every 6 weeks followed by a 30% glycolic peel... it does wonders for exfoliation and smoothing the skin.

ya i dont know if it was a diamond top or not lol.it felt interesting....

I'm european, fair skinned. They said for me it would take one or two treatments get rid of most of it. I however am not getting a 2nd...but i will do peels for the leftover stuff like marks and scars.

this is the day after the luvulan and im red but my pores look MUCH smaller and I seem to be healing just fine. I still see my red marks however...if they improve I must wait till the sun burn looking thing goes away to tell for sure.....

Did you request the dermabrasion, or did they do that as a normal part of the Levulan application? My derm didn't mention anything about the dermabrasion so I wonder if that's typical.

I'm assuming your marks are not so bad that you need the laser? How long have you had the marks and how many peels do you think you will need?

Oh theyre just light red marks. A series of peels and maybe skin lightening product should help it. Hey theyre not too bad...and if this procedure improves me breaking out then its still all good smile.gif so in a couple months if all goes well with me getting a job then I'll go back and have my skin evaluated for some peels. I'm almost positive i dont need a laser

I didnt expect this to get rid of EVERYTHING. so my red marks that are still there is just the next thing I need to take care of. the red marks I have have been here for 6 months and some less..so the procedure isnt making me get more or anything.

the microderm peel was a regular thing they did...I didnt request it.

by looking at my face it also seems my depressions have reduced. My depressions werent bad in the first place and u had to look at me close with right type of lighting just to see them anyways...I cant see them now lol...except for ONE depression on my cheek. Once again, I need to finish healing to say for sure....

That's awesome that you are getting good results so far. I have red marks that vary in age from 3 months to 9 months. I tend to mark and bruise very easily. I do have some indentations that I'd like to smooth out too. The derm never mentioned the blue light would help with that, but maybe it would help as well. He told me that if I had it done on a Friday evening (he only does them in the late afternoon and evening when there's less sunlight), I would expect to only have 2-3 days of downtown. Is that what your derm told you?

Have you considered the at-home blue lights as well? I was thinking about ordering one online and trying it out to see what kind of results I get. if I'm going to the derm, it's not going to be till next year, when I can max out my medical reimbursement plan (I'm hoping this kind of procedure is covered).

Thanks for the updates and keep us posted!

my procedure was actually done really early in the morning. I could not go outside for 48 hours, i wear sunscreen in the house even lol.

I actually had an at-home blue and red light lamp but It broke or something...this was in the 8th grade. I might consider buying one again once a get my job.

At most I think I'm going to have a week downtime. My face is just pink now instead of red, but I am going through a REALLY dry stage. So I have to spritz myself with a spray on moisturizr every now and then lol. I have a feeling I'm going to peel pretty badly soon

My pores look amazing cool.gif and my red marks will definately lighten if not heal completely ( i can tell a bit more now)

I cant wait to fully heal to see how much my oil production was reduced. I was so oily and never went anywhere without oil absorbing papers lol.gif
