I've heard people talk about the skin beginning to thicken itself again.. what exactly does this mean?
also...my derm says the accutane stays in your system for 2months after treatment, so does this mean it continues to work?
Thanks in advance.
3 weeks until I'm finished.

Not sure about the part about thickening skin; but the tane does stay in your system for a while after, so i guess it would keep working until it is completely gone.

You'll continue seeing improvements for several months after you finish the Accutane. It is indetectible one month after finishing (and likely before that as well) as that is when blood donations are allowed once one's finished accutane.
Accutane does slightly thin the skin; it changes the structure and increases exfoliation AND it shrinks sebaceous glands. Your skin will take some time to recover from the changes that Accutane has wrought. You'll need to continue to treat your skin gently for several months after your last pill.
It won't hurt to ask for some type of follow-up treatment, a maintenance regimen for when you're done with accutane, so that you may maintain your results. Retin A is a good choice.

I've been told not to give blood for 6months.... and she already informed me that I would be using zineryt after I take my last pill.
Oh, and Wynne, about the numb side and the fall...the doctor tells me I have sciatica, and that it will go away on its own. Could be worse I suppose
