Who elses lips are going through absolute hell right now? haha. I swear, I have to keep applying chapstick like every 10 minutes because my lips just suck up all the moisture.. and then they start to flake like crazy... Espessially in the corners! Tonight was pretty embarrassing... I hung out with a bunch of my guy friends for hours tonight, and when I got home, I look in the mirror and even though I had chapstick on.. I still had flakes all over my lips! I hope my friends didn't notice too much lol saywhat.gif

Yeah the lips are a bummer. I play the trumpet so it's been bothering me quite a bit. I use beeswax whenever I get the chance. Pretty much unless I'm playing the trumpet I'm keeping my lips like constantly moist with the beeswax.

Hooray for Carmex!

My lips are likeplug holes in a bath - they are taking all the water away. Mine sting and it feels like I have a plastic cover over them!

I am on my second month of my second round of Accutane. When I took it in highschool, I was so dry!!! This time around, I haven't had any of the drying side effects exept a little on my lips. My derm told me from the get go to take 800 IUs of Vitamin E every day to combat against the dryness and flaking, and it has helped so much! For lips, try Aquaphor by Eucerin. Get the one in the tube. You will find it with the lotion (it's an ointment). The wax based lip balms suck the moisture out of your lips while the Aquaphor traps the moisture inside. It is scent free, so it won't irritate your lips/skin if yours is as sensitive as mine! I hope some of that helps!!

I feel your pain (literally). I read about people on here using Aquaphor on their lips so after everything else was failing I tried it and it's the best. I still reapply it like every half hour b/c my lips are dry like the desert, but it feels so good and lasts for quite awhile. I'd try that and also using an extra-soft baby toothbrush once a day or every other day very gently to brush off some of the dry skin. It's really helped me. Goodluck! Get some Aquaphor!
