My lips to a drastic turn for the worse a few weeks ago and it turns out I had a staph infection on them. I had to immediately go on antibiotics and they felt better within a couple of days.

Maybe try some neosporin if they are cracked and look like they may be trying to get infected.
Just don't get it in your mouth.

when my lips start peeling this is what i do... when i get out of the shower in the morning i slather vaseline on my lips then take a dry washcloth and rub it on my lips to get all the "scales" off.... it doesn't necessarily make them any less dry, but its easier to apply chapstick and they look so much better!

Did you try the antibiotic cream, or the vaseline? What are you currently using? If Carmex, it would be better to try something else as carmex has salicylic acid and menthol in some of its formulations, and those aren't the most gentle things for Accutane-irritated lips.

Aquaphor is what i use for lips.. I cake it on whenever I'm not somewhere that I would feel embarrassed having an excessively shiny mouth area.. because that stuff does not ever just stay on your lips.. its always on my chin and under my nose as well. But that works best so slather it on at night and use Burts Bees Wax during day.

CHAPPED LIPS NO LONGER WOOPPEE. soz keep trying all the stuff

top tip
when lips are dry, buffer them with a damp flanel or towel ect then apply lip balm.

I'm a repeat Accutane user, and I'm on my 4th month of this course now. My lips were beginning to dry up after my first month, and I tried all types of stuff on them. I happened to have some Mary Kay Extra-Emollient Night Cream on hand, that I love to use in the winter when my hands get chapped. I put some on my lips, and they felt wonderful! Moist! For me, this works better than Vaseline, Aquaphor, Carmex, Burt's Bees, and the various tubed chapsticks in my collection. wink.gif My lips are moist enough that I can even wear lipstick without it looking flaky!

I'm not a Mary Kay rep, just a customer who is happy with this product!

haha, theyre still chapped to pieces at the moment. ive given up on carmex i decided its evil. it makes my lips even more sore.

what i do know is just smother them in moisturiser every few hours and emu oil as well, that helps alot. theyre extremely dry still in the corners of my mouth, if i open it too far they bleed ewww eusa_shifty.gif

Is it normal vaseline? or Aloe Vera vaseline?

I swear by aloe vera, it calms my lips over night (like lastnight, when yesterday they were bleeding and raw all around)

Try Aloe vera vaseline!!! And no picking. smile.gif

ok. my lips were terrible and incredibly painful last week but I found some amazing new products and now they actually feel normal again and look pretty! It's unbelievable...

So on the corners I used Neosporin cream at first because they were so bad. Then when they got a bit better and were just dry I used this creme by La Roche-Posay called "Toleriane Riche".

And then I found this amazing lipbalm and my lips are so soft and silky now! It's by Noviderm and is called "Céracuta stick"
