K- so that's my background.......I just spent all day reading this thread from the first page. And yes, my first initial thought was- WHAT? No way..... BUT, after continuing to read and doing my own research (and yes, we're pretty granola in my house) it all started to make sense. So, today already I've done 2 applications....yup- I did it. My open sore acne did seem less red and my face is not tight like it would be with all the BP crap from Proactiv, but of course there's lots of healing to be done and it's still raw. But the thing is......it smells. I have been smelling urine all day long. I fell nauseous after inhaling that scent for so long. Is my urine just super concentrated? Would it help to dilute it? Have people still had success with washing it off after say 30 mins? I am DESPERATE and holding out hope that this could be my answer, but I can't stand it smelling. Also, what are the brands of the so called "mild cleansers" people are using? I need to ditch the harsh Proactiv, but have no idea what to replace it with- I need to be able to wash off the makeup (which I use mineral makeup to reduce oils an chemicals on my skin).
Also, is everyone just quiting their old regemine cold turkey? I fear that if I stop the Retin-A that my skin will freak out- should I continue to use it at night for a while and wean off?
Please everyone keep posting who is using this method- I SO want this to work!!!!

And if nothing good comes from it, at least it will be an amusing memory.
I will let you know how it goes! Wish me luck!

Plus the benzoyl constantly stains my clothes, and I'm 29, I'm really sick of having to deal with acne!!
So, five days ago, I bit the bullet, did some research on urine therapy, and decided what the heck, it'd be cheaper, and maybe my face wouldn't be so dry, since urine apparently is a good moisturizer. After five days of washing my face with facial soap at night and in the morning, and applying urine using a cotton swab three to four times a day, I have ZERO noticeable acne spots, and nothing getting ready to erupt, which has never happened before. If I had gone five days without applying BP at night, I would look like a pizza and probably wouldn't leave my house I'd be so broken out. I also haven't applied a moisturizer yet, which obviously means it works for that as well. The urine doesn't smell after you apply it to your face, it gets absorbed, I don't wash it off, and am 110% happy with the results. Just thought I'd report my results and let you decide for yourself.

I just wanted to comment on this forum. I've never posted on anything before, just taken ALL the different methods/advice/suggestions and tried them.
I'm 26, never had bad skin as a teenager or early 20s (in fact was much more prone to dry skin and had eczema for most of my life, sometimes on my face but mostly on my body)
I'd had pretty ok skin most my life (an odd pimple here and there but nothing major). I eat well, I am very healthy, I don't drink, I do regular sport. But about 3 years ago, when I met my now ex-boyfriend, I suddenly got really bad persistent acne. I fought it with topicals (proactiv, acne-free, various different OTCs) and just tried not to let it bother me too much, which of course it did. One of the things that bothered me the most was the extreme harshness of all products.
It came and went, but was pretty persistent (although became milder) over the 2 years, then a year ago I was so mad that I went on accutane. It worked a treat for the acne, but had enormous adverse reactions to my eczema. I stuck with it, despite the pain, and my skin was perfect... for about 6 months. A month ago (a yr after starting accutane which i took for 6 months) I started to break out again. I'm super sensitive hormonally speaking so thought not too much of it, although the fear was set in!
I'd re-found my self confidence and now I feel it slipping away, so I went to the derma, and she's given me the antibiotic doxy as it should clear it up pretty fast. My fear is though, of course, that after that's done, it'll come back. So I've been looking for other options. I don't want to go on accutane again, although I'm considering taking a Vit-A supplement (nothing crazy excessive maybe 15000 iu a day) for 'skin maintenance'. And I have some pretty effective dermalogica products for sporadic breakouts, but yes they are expensive and to be honest, I'd rather go for something totally natural (and free!)
I came across this post, and can't believe I hadn't heard of it before (my research hasn't been as extensive as I thought apparently) and I'm blown away by how amazing it sounds.
I just applied urine all over my face (in the manner Jen recommends) and it feels tight, which to be honest as someone that has had a lot of eczema, isn't so comfortable for me, but it doesn't feel negative tight at all. I am on the antibiotics so am aware these will have some effect on my urine, but after reading the posts, I couldn't wait to try, I'm really wanting to clear my skin ASAP as I got someone I'm really into seeing me this weekend!
I'm so fed up of putting shit in my body, on my face, etc etc, that this sounds like a dream (if, yes indeed a little inconvenient at times) and for me I still want to use a moisturising sunscreen in the day, it's against the eczema and of course, sun protection is really important.
As I said, I'm really v healthy, a veggie, I only drink water and tea (sometimes coffee, red wine or scotch! but not often) and so bad skin is really disheartening. But I feel inspired by the positive comments on this forum. Thanks to all who have posted.
I'm pretty busy, and don't get that much time to go on the internet, but I will post back when I can. I see people need the positive encouraging feedback, and I think this is a really great, valid, natural solution (if it works for me I'll double that sentiment!)
I do wonder about the tackling acne from inside versus topically.
I know my skin is totally hormonal, and certainly accutance and it seems doxy both work which both tackle internally, and of course urine is a topical treatment. I really hope to be able to get rid of the acne with the doxy right now and then use my very gentle skin regime (dermalogica cleanser, daily microfoliant from time to time and moisturiser) and use urine (unfortunately prob only 2x a day) as a toner type product, after cleansing morning and eve, but before moisturising (which could be interesting if it seems I don't need to do it, but I'm skeptical bcos of my eczema/dry skin) and to see if this system works as a healthy skin maintenance system.
Thanks again, for all the advice/stories. I'll post back, maybe it'd be interesting for anyone else who also has that annoying combination of eczema with pimples, who knows, maybe it'll work for both!
in the meantime, good luck everyone!

Spectro gel is a good mild cleanser and it will take out makeup unless you have primer on. You may want to give Retin-A a try without proactiv. Proactiv dryed the sh?% out of my face and made my acne worse.

Urine is totally sterile and has many chemically cleansing properties that can benefit skin.
It might seem disgusting but it has had nothing but positive reviews.

I drink so much water, my pee is practically clear. I don't see what would be so bad about it. Just somewhat inconvenient. Since I drink so much water, I pee probably 10 times a day at least.

Urea is a denaturant and helps maintain pH balance. Not that I"ve tried it though.
