My main concern is the smell... I do eat meat and drink milk and I've heard that that affects the odor of your urine. But I did find this page: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Can_urine_clear_acne
which says you can rinse it off after 10 mins or so. I'm thinking that if I do that and follow up with a traditional moisturizer, that would eliminate any odor I notice.
Also, it's important for women to know what a "clean catch" is. You want to use a sterile wipe, front to back at least three times to ensure you've cleared away all vaginal secretions. Then begin to urinate into the toilet for a second or two before you move your container or cotton into the stream. This will allow the urine to wash away any bacteria and such from the urinary tract before you collect. Personally, I'd recommend you catch in a clean container even if you use the urine fresh. This allows you to note any changes in color, odor, or clarity... which is important in making sure you are not dealing with an infection.
For those who cannot refrigerate the morning urine, I'd just use it fresh and then dispose of it. Leaving it at room temperature will only facilitate growth of bacteria. Also, since there is no beneficial "living" component of urine, if you were concerned about it not being completely sterile... you could always boil it first.
I'll update soon with my specific regimen and results.
