Honestly, I can't believe you'd put up a post that you are doubtful that urine is sterile. It takes like five seconds on google to locate a reliable source. Just type in URINE IS STERILE...nih.gov pops up claiming its sterile, wikipedia, and any number of medical sites. Its a medical fact, very easy to verify.

Has no one tried this method? Or are you just not posting how its going for you? I thought this was a discussion forum...I was hoping at least a few brave souls would try it and report back on whether its working for them and exactly what they're doing. I'm like 10 days in, still clear skin, not a red bump in sight, and no one's willing to give it a try and share their experience?....unless your current regime is 100% effective, why not give it a shot and report back? I can't have posted my experience and taken all the heat for nothing, plus I think all the ignorant comments are dwindling, so really what do you have to lose, try it and post how its going, you could help other people...maybe it only helps certain types of acne, maybe it works best when used a certain way....come on, give it a try and then report back

Believe it or not, my mom told me about this method years ago. She grew up in a communist country during WWII, and they used a lot of home remedies because medication wasn't available or too expensive during that time. When she told me this, about six or seven years ago, my first reaction was disgust. Now that I'm older and have tried everything, it doesn't seem that disturbing anymore. I'm four months into spiro and still experience breakouts, although not cystic and not as often anymore. I have no shame.....I'll try it for a month or two and see if it helps. Why not.

Yeah, I have a cohort in my experiment now. For me, I saw results that it was working fairly quickly, so hopefully it won't take a month or so for you to see vast improvement. It seems to be working so well for me that I'm getting anxious about it now. It just doesn't make sense to me that its so effective and I've never heard word one about it. So another success story would make me more comfortable with my results...definitely keep me posted

Jess, I'm a vegetarian, and when in school my diet is generally pretty good, but over summer break I travel a lot so I have to say my diet now is awful. I also regularly consume massive amounts of diet soda. Luckily my acne doesn't seem to respond to my diet changes. I always have the same pimples in the same places on my face, only time I notice them worsen a bit is during my time of the month

hahaha! lol.gif

Sterile just means its free of bacteria, not free of toxins.
But I doubt that urine is more toxic than most acne products anyway

So 10 days now into this urine thing, it would be nice with some before and afters

Thanks Jen. The reason I was asking is because I think the quality of your diet could affect urine therapy. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't urine contain enzymes, nutrients, vitamins, and elements that are influenced by diet? I haven't read this anywhere, but it seems logical that a very poor diet could lead to bad results. Since you're a vegetarian, you're probably getting decent nutrition, and I don't think the diet sodas would affect it much.

It was just a thought I had, because if someone has a very bad diet-eating junkfood and candy 24/7-I don't know how much this would benefit them. But, I could be all wrong, just my 2 cents smile.gif

I use urine in the morning and at night I put on a feces mask for 15 minutes and then wash it off with urine.

Most of the time I use my own but on some lucky nights my room mate forgets to flush so I use his and I save mine for a rainy day.

LMAO!! thanks I was needing a laugh!

But I want to add that drinking your own urine won't do any harm to you. Just don't drink other people's urine lol

Pop,

No before an afters, first, I wasn't really thinking I would come into any, let alone this much resistance, so why would I ever take up close shots of my face before a late night decision to not run out to a 24 hour drug store when I realized I was out of BP. Second my face is clear, I think the amount of crap I'm taking and my insistence on still reporting updates of my results should be proof enough. I have a suggestion, if you want before and after pics, take a pic of yourself tonight, start my regime, keep it up and take a picture two weeks from tonight.

Jess,

When I first read the list of nutrients that were 'supposed' to be in urine, I had your same thought process....do I even consume all of those things, and if I don't how the heck is this going to work? Quite often I think, I didn't eat very well today, what if I don't have enough, whatever it is that's making it work, and I wake up with an outbreak, but so far that hasn't happened. Its one of the reasons I want more people to try it, maybe super healthy eaters would have super results...I still do have 'rough' skin on my chin, the kind you have after a severe outbreak has cleared up...I know it takes time for the damaged skin to be replaced and the bumps that are a few layers of skin down to completely disappear, but I can't help but wonder if there is something I could do to make it work faster, diet wise or method wise. I know when I was first on differin it took about 3 weeks to get clear, soft, bump free skin, so if I don't have that in about a week and a half, I may start experimenting with diet or some other bright idea I haven't yet conceived.

Hey I was just wondering before you started this regimen what type of acne did you have? and how long did it take you before you became clear?

My original post to start this topic explains it in detail. But I pretty much have breakouts on both sides of my chin, temples and forehead. Normally BP every night keeps it from getting out of control, but with BP, I usually have at least 5 inflamed pimples. Within five days of starting, I posted my results and I had no inflammation and there were no detectable bumps for those pimples. Of course, as I've said recently, I can still feel tiny bumps across my forehead in the deeper layers of my skin. Those of course aren't visible I can just feel them. I imagine it'll take another week or two before it is entirely smooth.

So its the two week mark, and I am seeing improvement in 'scarring' and the level of bumpiness across my forehead. I believe its helping with clogged pores, but that's still tough to tell. I believe the new layers of skin emerging are healthier. The big result for me though, is that I have a couple of pimples that re-occur in the same spot and are always huge and non-responsive to BP, they usually stick around for about a month, even with a nightly application. The kind that are huge underneath the skin, but never seem to come to the surface, so you can 'pop' them, and they get pretty painful. One of those started forming last night and this morning, I can't feel anything, not sure why, but that's the extent of my update. No BP or moisturizer for two weeks now, and no red marks on face....haven't been this clear since age 24, before I had my initial outbreak.

I'm glad to see it's still working for you. =D

I think you're referring to a cyst there, and I get those, too. If urine works on a cyst, I'm going to start trying it right away. xD My biggest skin complaint is the cystic acne. I'm not very prone to pustules, just closed comedones and cysts.

I should know all the terminology...guess its a testament to the fact mine isn't very bad that I don't. But, I am two weeks in, so if you try it, give it a little time before you throw in the towel. And Good Luck! Please post, or send me a message letting me know how its working.

The hard zits that you're referring to that don't come to a head but realllly hurt, that's a cyst. The things that do come to a head and are commonly called "whiteheads" are actually pustules. And a whitehead is actually just a blackhead that didn't turn black. I think. xD

I may give it a go. I'm starting my Ortho Evra again soon, and I hope that'll keep my acne in check. I'll definitely let you know if I try the urine route, though. Heck, I might even make a regimen log about it. xDD

TrIKster,

Oh thats such BS, the few people who have tried it on here have confirmed that it does NOT make you smell bad. You shouldn't even be able to smell it while you're putting it on, and if you can, it makes me wonder if you are trying to be a jokester or if you are doing something odd. Once its in the cotton swab or whatever you're applying it with you shouldn't smell it. I never have and I've been doing this for 2+weeks. And obviously after its applied you shouldn't smell anything.

As a P.S. There is literature about applying it to your body, and it suggests you...stop reading if you're easily offended or close-minded, I'm rather fed up with defending a common homeopathic remedy, but it suggests you could urinate in your bath water and soak in it for a bit. I haven't tried it, I don't know the truth in it, but if you are serious, and seriously are having a hard time with application/smell/whatever, you might try it.
