If anyone has had or heard of anything similar to this please let me know...I've been in excruciating pain all week.

Background:

-Very Mild Face Acne
-Acne on Back/Chest
-Been on the medicine for about 9 weeks (started at 20mg, now on 80mg)
-Face has been about the same, a little better
-Back is horrible/worse than when I started

Anyway, about two weeks ago I got some cold sore dry spots by the side of my mouth, but they went away in a few days. About a week ago I got the same kind of annoying dry skin/cold sores by the side of my mouth, and well now basically it as if someone cut into the skin and ripped it open...there is a little area of this gel/ozzy/watery stuff, and it doesn't seem to heal because every time I open my mouth (to talk, eat, etc) it rips back open. The past few days it has gotten very painful - I have my next checkup on Tuesday, but I was hoping maybe some of you could give me some advice!

Aquaphor, Plus neosporin makes a liip treatment for severely dry craked lips... I have some but havent had to use it yet. thats just extreme dryness brought on by accutane, not to worry.. just a pain, get the neosporin lip treatment that should help you though. I also use this Badger Creamy Cocoa Lip Balm. It coats your lips thoroughly and lasts a decent length so you dont ahve to keep reapplying it ever 5 min.. lol. Bet you just thought youd get away without little moisturizing, the tane will kick your ass on dryness though. Im on my second course on day 8(60mg\day) and if I wasnt constantly applying that Badger Lip balm and aquaphor, my lips, corners of my mouth, and cracks around nose would be a painful disaster of dryness.

Basically the tane dries the whole outside of your body out. If you dont moisturize almost everywhere on a high dose you'll get severe dryness\flaking. Imagine that if you didnt moisturize even your knuckles would crack up and shred to nothing... Anything like the knuckles, armpits, knees, elbows, cracks under ear, nose, etc.... all that will probably need aquaphor or a SERIOUS moisturizer.
