So for the past month or so I was doing very well on a dietary plan, including all vital supplements, apple cider vinegar, fish oil, low-GI (avoided all dairy and wheat). The problem is, I'm off to college in just three days, and obviously it's not very realistic to keep up this regimen in a world where the menu is ubiquitously composed of dairy and wheat products, share a room with someone for the first month and use a public bathroom, let alone take a bus to the health food store to continue to purchase all of my supplements periodically in the midst of a very busy study schedule.
Normally, I wouldn't consider taking a gamble with accutane, but I finally decided it's probably the best thing to keep my schedule in order next year. The long-term side effects are quite scary (though they seem to be rare) but the common side effects seem manageable. I just got my blood drawn today and I'm waiting for the call to go into my local pharmacy.
I realize that accutane is a very controversial drug, and some people wouldn't take it under any circumstance (which is somewhat admirable considering the potential userbase's severe acne conditions) but would you take it under this circumstance, where you have virtually no control over the other holistic factors?

Same here. I started taking Accutane last April. Acne cleared up within about 4 to 6 weeks and have remained pretty much clear since then. It was the best thing I did. Good luck!

Accutane was OK for me. Though my acne returned, it did give some relief for me. While I was on it, however, i got this liver problem where i had abnormally high levels. So just be aware of the risks

Accutane is the answer if you want to rid yourself of acne. Well, if you have a great faith in prayer and God, that's a better option. Few do, though.

Prayer and God?!?!?! Whatever dark untapped confine of your own arse did you pull that out of?
Accutane is magnificent, good luck!

I'm on accutane now, and I just got past the initial breakout and my skin is clearing up so fast that there's a noticable improvment since yesterday. It's awesome! Just get your blood tested a lot so they catch any side effects(the bad ones are rare, but better safe than sorry.)

I'm starting it cause nothing else works.
Non-prescription, anti-biotics, cream etc.
Looking forward to it
