Hello everyone... today i had the first ipl session and was ok. I have a little rosacea thats very annoying and i decided to treat it.

My question is when ill see a little improvment? These days ? Or i have to finishthe entire course of 3-5 sessions to observe it?

Tx

Congrats on getting your first IPL smile.gif The improvements should be cumulative and increasing with each treatment, where you see the most improvement after the final treatment. Each one should make your rosacea a bit better, and by the final treatment I'd expect your rosacea to be about 85-100% gone.

Are you able to take pictures of it, so you can compare them from the beginning to the end? Sometimes that's the best way because it can be hard to remember exactly how your skin looked once the rosace is gone. Best of luck to you, and don't be discouraged if you don't see a dramatic improvement after the 1st one. It took about 3 for the rosacea on my nose to disappear.

Paks didn't you just come off roaccutane recently? i may be mistaking you for someone else. but if you have recently just finished a course of accutane (within the last 6 months) you shouldn't be having any form of laser treatment. It sounds as if you have gotten away with it though, just thought i would let you know...

I've had 2 IPLs out of a course of five so far... for some red marks from spots, although they're not all that bad, and getting rid of freckles... all that happened after each one is a couple (and I mean, literally about 3) freckles have flaked off a few days after each. I'm hoping I'm going to see some sort of result after the 3rd at least otherwise it's looking like I've wasted a lot of money...!

Hey Paks, sorry I misunderstood your question. I saw results from my IPL on the same day of treatment, and it was usually about 2-3 hours after the treatment was done. I had 3 total treatments and saw improvement on the same day of each, the last treatment, showing the most improvement. If that helps.

I was so surprised to read that your derm allowed you to get IPL a month after your Accutane course was finished! I asked my derm and she said that I would need to wait at least 6 months to a year to get IPL, after I finished accutane. I thought all derms would require the same kind of waiting period.

I dont know what to say.. just that i had the ipl without problems... no inflamation ! If its about this period of 6 months... then we need to know the reason. I cant find nothing about this.

Anyway i asked about the days after ipl becoz i have to agree that after the first session i didnt see nothing new... just that my skin is a lil bit smoother .. but the redness is still there like it was before!

no ... for some ppl who have very sensitive skin might hurt JUST a lil bit... but is very gentle... is just an intense light nothing more!

I thought it hurt, but it's bearable. It's like loads of little snaps over your face (one at a time), each one feeling like an elastic band snapping against a bit of your face for a millisecond.

I had my third IPL this week, and I can still hardly see any results... not even much on my freckles which should be easy to get rid of, never mind red marks... I also keep breaking out... confused.gif ugh
