I'm not sure what kind of acne I have, but it looks pretty bad to me. Whenever one pimple goes another, another one will just pop up.

My regimen:
Clear & Clear Cream Cleanser in the morning and night
BP 2% in morning and night
Moisturizer whenever I go out.

Are there more effective methods that would suite me better?

It's moderate. Kinda looks like mine: inflamed spots and red marks.

Currently I'm trying moojamba's dip regimen and fish oil.
Soon I'll add Zinc supplements to that to help heal red marks.

Mine as worse don't worry. It will be ok. Perhaps you might want to give accutane a chance..

I don't have insurance so accutane isn't an option.

Wow, I thought I was the only one who used clean and clear deep action cream cleanser followed by bp. So far it has been the best thing I've used on my skin. I still get break outs, but much less often. Are you using Dan's bp? I switch off between Dan's and Proactiv. I find Dan's to be more effective, but the Proactiv looks better with makeup. I also use Neutrogena Healthy Skin face lotion as a moisturizer. I have found the clean and clear to be much more effective than any gentle cleanser. Some might argue that it is too aggravating bc it contains salicylic acid. I guess everyone is different though. Good luck!
