Realllly. I did not know that. I always thought you had to moistorize because it keeps the skin healthy, and stuff. Well, what about sun screen? I have to put that on everyday before I go outside, and still my face gets oily. But anyways, I didn't put any moistorizer before I left today and my oil production seems to still be the same.
How is cleansing oil for sensative/oily skin? For some reason, the idea of putting more oil on your face to stop producing more oil doesn't really make sense..
As for fish oil, would I take omega 3 supplements?
Actually putting less products means less chemicals and that is much healthier for the skin. As I've said apply moisturizer only if you have dry or irritated skin. You only have to apply sunscreen if you go out ESPECIALLY if you're on medication. As for the using oil to clean your face, I think that is just fine as long as it is not comedogenic. But always remember this, a cleanser has ONE job, and that is to clean the face. Fancy cleansers will do more harm than good especially medicated once (cleansers aren't long enough to sit on the face to make an effect). So dont expect noticing a difference with the oil cleanser. Search this board especially bryan's topics if you're still curious about the sebum production's myths. Basically as I've previously said, forget topicals to stop oil production, it's debunked.
As for the omega 3, you should get fish oil as this has more EPA & DHA than others (this is what matters). Basically, an omega 3 is the fatty acid found mostly in fish oils, flaxseed, etc. You might also want to add zinc supplements. specifically zinc picolinate as it absorbs better. I remember reading once that some people reduced their oil production by taking zinc. Nevetheless zinc can convert EPA & DHA to PG3 (an anti-inflammatory) more easily. lol I think Im getting too complex here.
