I've now included pics of what my face currently looks like.

Sorry about posting the same post 3 times earlier today board. It wasn't going through so I clicked it a few times.

Thanks for reading,

Dave

I've pretty much tried everything to get rid of my random spots. I'd say this time last year was when I suffered the most with my skin problems. These days I just have random pimples form every week. I shower every morning, clean my face with Neutrogena's Mens Face Wash. I clean my face at night before bed too. Somedays I add moisturizer, it just depends. If I do, I use Neutrogena's Mens with SPF 20 if I'll be out in the sun, if not then I use Nivea for Men Oil Control Lotion.

I even purchased a Zeno device and it only works okay. Nothing special. I'll post pictures here later on tonight when I get a chance, so you guys can see what I'm talking about. I've never had a bad case of acne, just random pimples, and I'm sick of tired of them. I'll be 23 in August, and it's about time that my skin problems go away.

Is there anything else you all can suggest that I do? I workout and exercise 6 days a week, and after I finish my workout, I just soak my face in water, instead of cleansing. They say 3 times a day is too much so that's why I avoid it, even though I'm a sweaty mess. I also eat very healthy and try my best to avoid junk food at all costs, while also drinking at least 6-8 glasses of water a day.

Your acne is on about the same level as mine and I'm currently giving this a shot:

Hi! It looks like you have no inflamed acne, just some whiteheads and clogged pores. You'd benefit from gentle exfoliation.

You might try chemical or mechanical exfoliation.

If you try chemical, Paula's Choice BHA is pretty darn good. Other possibilities are an AHA or alpha hydroxy acid product of some type. They exfoliate the skin and help unblock clogged pores.

Mechanical exfoliation would be via some type of scrub. I believe people on these boards recommend Nivea's Energizing Scrub for Men. I myself like the baby's hair brush method for exfoliation. See the link in my signature below. smile.gif

Good luck, you WILL be clear. Just read around a bit, and you'll find all sorts of great ideas that will help you clear up.

I def agree with Wynne. Chemical exfoliation has done wonders for my skin. My forehead use to be so clogged up it was so frustrating. Then my derm recommended i use a glycolic acid face wash, Its been wonderful. I would def try that. I'm using a product called glyotone. Its really mild. I have sensitive, dry skin and it hasn't bothered me at all. Neways Goodluck, hope that helps

Hey...

I have the same kind of acne you do. It's mild, yet still there and very annoying.

Try Queen Helene's Mint Julep Masque.

I have tried everything too, and after reading many positive things about QHMJ Masque I had to try it.

It works great for drying up small acne spots and drying up oil to prevent more breakouts.

Also, using a 8-10% Alpha Hydroxy formula on them stops them from growing and clears them up.

You can buy the AHA lotion Dan recommends from http://www.neotericcosmetics.com/ just click on Alpha Hydrox, then product line, then the Original Line. It's the Enhanced Lotion you want. It's usually not available in stores, and from the wesbite I gave you above, (directly from company) it's the cheapest.

You can get a free sample kit containing the souffle (which is 12%...it's more expensive and 10% works just as good. Enhanced Lotion is 10%.) here. http://www.alphahydrox.com/ahff It will say "Buy" in a box, but its free...they just have you order it without asking you for any credit card info.

Hope This Helps!

Ha, until this morning it was doing okay. I woke up with a few more tiny pimples. I went ahead and ordered Paula's Choice One Step Face Cleanser & 1% Beta Hydroxy Acid Gel. Hopefully this will be a good choice in clearing me up. If not, I'll switch products again. Maybe I'll try the AHA next, but they say that is for dry skin and I don't have dry skin. It's pretty normal, and only gets a bit oily after about 8 hours without cleansing.

You should see it today though. I've got about 4 big red bumps on my head though. As the day goes on, they are starting to hurt and form a head too. I guess when I took those pictures, I was having a decent day in the skin care department, ha.

Hey all, I know you're just trying to help him feel better by saying your acne is worse. But really, this isn't a competition. Everyone feels badly when they've got acne, no matter how severe.
